Raghav - you are the only MP I have seen in the last 12 months talk about the middle class boiling families under taxesโ€ฆ Thank you for raising these concerns. I wish our politicians were as sensible as you are and raise the real ground reality related issues

@raghav_chadha ji you have dropped some solid ๐Ÿ”ฅ truths in Parliament today. Miracles do happen as this is LITERALLY the "only" good thing AAP's done : "raising the vital LTCG point" !

Finance Minister is Nirmala Sitharaman. Dont expect anything good for Stock markets from her. Instead coming budgets LTCG and STCG will only keep increasing. See below, even after listening to all complaints, she still later increased LTCG and STCG rates๐Ÿค”

Words of wisdom. The only sensible MP in the parliament who actually raises real issues. This high taxation is the fundamental reason for migration of rich from India, exodus of the FII capital, which leads to forex outflows, weaker currency and more tax burden on the people.

Leaving politics aside, agree with him. Valid concerns to be addressed before it's late. Hardly another 26 trading days for budget. Let's hope for some sense to prevail

This is a very thoughtful and researched speech, The government should think on these lines, Just like the government gave a boost to consumption, a boost for investment is also needed. #ltcg #stcg #stt #investment

Being a CA, I expect you to be aware of double taxation issue in Dividend Income. This should also be corrected , and raised in Parliament.

Kudos to you for bringing this up in Parliament. Indian retail investors are being harassed with unnecessarily high taxation and frequent rule changes. Hope @FinMinIndia and @nsitharaman ji are listening.

This is how 'sensible' discussion should be held. Thanks so much for bringing forth such relevant details and that too in a respectful and factual manner. Feel proud that we have such politicians. I also wish to hear your views on the freebies doled out to win elections.

Looks like @raghav_chadha ji is about to join BJP. Just like Shashi Tharoor, he is also talking sensible progressive things. People do such sensible talking only when they are about to join BJP.

Thank you for raising the concerns of Indiaโ€™s minorities - the taxpayers of India. We need more discussions like these in the Sadan, instead of endless debates centered around the Nehruโ€“Gandhi.

Raising indexation in LTCG isnโ€™t populism! itโ€™s sound economics. Kudos to @raghav_chadha for flagging this in Parliament and to the team that did the homework. Long-term investors needed this voice.

Higher capital gains taxes may be discouraging risk capital and influencing FII outflows. Retail investors, whoโ€™ve stayed invested and weathered the grind, merit some breathing space here.

If someone makes an FD (Fixed Deposit) for more than 5 years, the customer should be given a tax rebate. There should be tax incentivization. The tax on Short-Term Capital Gains (STCG) is too high, it should be reduced if we want to encourage investment. @raghav_chadha ๐Ÿ”ฅ

This discussion deserves to stay alive before the Budget, not after itโ€™s announced โ€” when decisions are already locked in and feedback becomes meaningless.
