Good news for Prepaid Mobile Users in India The Govt just introduced Telecom Consumer Protection (Thirteenth Amendment) Regulations, 2026, consumers will now have: • 30-day recharge plans, reducing the need for 13 monthly recharges to 12 in a year • Voice and SMS-only plans for those who do not need data • More suitable options for low-budget consumers who primarily need basic voice calls Many of you had shared your concerns with me about limited and inflexible recharge options. I raised this issue in Parliament on 11th March, seeking greater choice and more affordable options for consumers. I am grateful to the Government of India and TRAI for resolving these concerns in the interest of greater consumer choice and convenience.

I spoke for every young Indian who believes that honest effort deserves an honest opportunity. With the passage of the Public Examinations Amendment Bill, 2026, India’s first ever Anti Paper Leak framework comes into effect. Students spoke. The Government listened. Action followed. Systems changed. Because a paper leak does not merely compromise an examination. It can wipe out years of preparation in a single moment. In Parliament today, I spoke on the “cut money” arrangement between some doctors and diagnostic centres/ pathology labs. Diagnostic centres call it "marketing expense." Doctors call it "referral commission." All gets added to Patient's hospital bill. A silent transaction that isn't about your treatment. It's about who referred you. Watch this before your next medical test.

Visited the Udaan Yatri café at Mumbai Airport and had chai for just ₹10. Was flying to Delhi and wanted chai before the flight. Spoke to several travellers while I was there. All of them happy, all of them saying the same thing: Easy on the pocket, good service, value for money. Affordable airport food is possible. And this is proof☕ ✈️

In Parliament today I proposed optional Joint filing of Income Tax Returns for married couples. Family A Both spouses earn ₹10 lakh each. Total household income is ₹20 lakh. Tax: zero Family B One spouse earns ₹20 lakh. The other stays home to raise their child. Total household income is ₹20 lakh. Tax: ₹1.92 lakh The only difference is how the salary is split between the two spouses. One roof. One kitchen. One household budget. But when tax time comes, the family disappears. The tax system sees two individuals. A husband and wife become strangers. No clubbing of income or rebates. In Parliament today I proposed optional joint filing of Income Tax Returns for married couples, so families with uneven incomes are not unfairly penalised. If implemented, then Family A and Family B both will pay Zero Tax.

₹19,000 crore. That is what Banks collected in last 3 years just for not maintaining ‘Minimum Account Balance.’ Not from the rich. Not from big borrowers. From the poorest accounts in the system. Their crime? They didn’t have enough money. A farmer misses the minimum balance - Penalty. A pensioner withdraws money for medicine - Penalty. A daily wage worker falls short by a few hundred rupees - Penalty. The poor keep money in banks for safety. Not to be quietly fined for being poor. Financial inclusion should protect small savings, not punish small balances. In Parliament today I proposed ending minimum balance penalties so the banking system stops charging people for their poverty.

My Demand: Make Long Term Capital Gain TAX on Equities NIL for individual investor. I welcome the hike in STT (security transaction tax) on derivatives as it can curb reckless speculation. Nearly 90% of retail investors lose money in F&O, turning markets into gambling. When STT was originally introduced, LTCG was zero. But now with both STT and LTCG in place, investors are disincentivised. I urge the govt to abolish LTCG on equities for individuals, as done in Switzerland, Singapore, UAE & others. This will boost household wealth, reduce speculation, and shift savings from gold & real estate into equities.

Twenty-five uninterrupted years. Successive electoral victories. Public trust renewed at every stage. 25 years ago today, on 7 October 2001, Shri Narendra Modi ji took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Today he completes 25 uninterrupted years as the head of a government. He began at a difficult time for Gujarat, went on to win three successive mandates in the state, moved from Gandhinagar to Delhi in 2014 and has since led the country through three consecutive Lok Sabha mandates. Over these 25 years, the scale of responsibility has changed enormously, but there is also a certain continuity in the way he has approached governance. Some ideas that began in Gujarat, whether in grievance redressal, rural electrification, water, technology or investment, were later taken to a much larger scale nationally. And over the last 12 years we have seen an equally large expansion in financial inclusion, digital payments, infrastructure, welfare delivery, manufacturing, healthcare and the use of technology in government. But perhaps the more interesting thing about the 25-year milestone is that Hon'ble PM himself is talking about the next phase. Making India one of the world’s top three economies. Building a far more self-reliant India. Creating a global manufacturing base. Investing in semiconductors, AI, space and new technologies. Strengthening energy security. Creating greater opportunities for our young people. And ultimately laying the foundations for a Viksit Bharat by 2047. Today he summed up that determination in three simple words: “Hum karke rahenge.” A first mandate can come from hope and expectation. But when people keep renewing that mandate over many years, the expectations become greater and so does performance. That, for me, is what makes these 25 years significant. My heartiest congratulations to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji on this very special milestone. Wishing him good health, strength and many more years in the service of Bharat. 🇮🇳 #25YearsOfSeva

Central Government’s draft Social Security Rules are the first step towards recognition, protection and dignity for your work. Even though the Platforms (Zomato, Swiggy, Blinkit, etc.) chose not to listen to your voices, the people of this country and the government did. If voters can HIRE a neta, they should be able to FIRE the neta too. If Indian voters have the Right to Elect, they should have the ‘RIGHT TO RECALL’ too. Right to Recall is a mechanism that empowers voters to de-elect an elected representative, before their term ends, if they fail to discharge their duties. If we can impeach the President, the Vice President and judges, and move a no confidence motion against an elected government mid term, then why should voters be forced to tolerate a non performing MP or MLA for five full years. Five years is too long. There is no profession where you underperform for five years with zero consequences. More than 24 democracies in the world such as the United States, Switzerland etc. provide arecall or voter initiated removal mechanisms in some form. If Indian voters have the right to elect, they should have the right to recall too. However, there should be safeguards to prevent misuse: Threshold - At least 35 to 40 percent voters should back a recall trigger through a verified petition before any recall vote is held Cooling period - A minimum 18 month lock in after election so the representative has time to deliver and cannot be targeted immediately after winning Clear grounds- Recall only for proven misconduct, fraud, corruption or serious neglect of duty, not everyday political disagreements Final test- Recall succeeds only if more than 50 percent voters support removal in the recall vote This is citizen empowerment. It will push parties to field performers, reduce corruption, and bring democracy back to accountability. Voters have the right to vote someone into office and they should have the right to vote them out of office too.

I spoke in Uzbekistan on ‘Digital Access & Rights in a Digital Era' at the 12th IPU Conference. With over a billion people connected and UPI making instant payments part of daily life, India has shown that digital scale and inclusion can go hand in hand. I highlighted how technology is widening access and building a future that: connects without excluding, innovates without exploiting and protects without controlling. The real test of this era is not how smart our machines become. It is whether the person with the cheapest phone, in poorest district has the gets the same access, protection and opportunity as everyone else.

I Introduced a Private Member’s Bill in Parliament to provide for maximum punishment for sacrilege to Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, Bhagwat Gita, Holy Quran and Holy Bible. This bill proposes to amend the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 to make such cases of sacrilege a crime punishable with a maximum punishment.

1 extra kg of baggage and airline bills you exorbitantly. But 4 hours of flight delay and airline owes you nothing. Airlines track your baggage weight to the gram. Why don’t they value your time to the hour? If they can charge you by the gram, they must compensate you by the hour. Today in Parliament, I asked the Civil Aviation Minister whether they are working towards a compensation framework for passengers affected by significant flight delays!

I demanded in Parliament that PATERNITY LEAVE should be a legal right in India. When a child is born, both parents are congratulated. But caregiving responsibility falls on one. The mother. A father should not have to choose between caregiving for his newborn and keeping his job. And a mother should not have to go through childbirth & recovery without her husband’s support Right after childbirth the woman, needs her husband’s presence the most. The husband’s caregiving responsibility towards his wife is equally important. I raised this issue in Parliament because caregiving is a shared responsibility. Our laws must reflect that.
