First of all Rwanda never existed before colonizers arrived, instead present day Rwanda was divided into many small Hutu Kingdoms that colonizers found under occupation of a Tutsi kingdom of Nyiginya clan. Nduga, Ndorwa, Gisaka, Bugesera, Kinyaga, Busozo, Bukunzi...all were independent kingdoms. When colonizers arrived, not all these kingdoms were under occupation. Before occupation, each of these kingdoms had their own dialect similar to Kinyarwanda, their own culture and leadership. Today some people complain and demand for the renaming of the country. They think Rwanda's ideology of occupation and land grabbing would be weakened once we are disconnected from that kingdom of Rwanda that came to exist by land grabbing and genocides and rapes, and continue the same mentality even in neighboring nations.

You're the biggest dummy on the whole continent of Africa. Everything you say is factually wrong. Rwanda was sort of amalgamated and strengthened by the colosination, it never strecthed over the Akagera park. Burundi existed long before colonisation and was never part of Rwanda.

Congolese will boast about having a big country endowed with minerals and falsely accuse #Rwanda of stealing them but omit that the colonial masters annexed #Rwandaโ€™s territories to their country. Countries like #Belgium should never be forgiven by #Rwanda.

If you are disappointed by facts that Congo is a creation of Leopold who stole millions of square kilometre of land from other African countries, then your opinion matters very little to me because you clearly donโ€™t know anything.

The story about the โ€œlooterโ€ of the Congoโ€™s minerals gets one thing wrong: the identity of the looter. The Financial Times ran a story yesterday about the Congo that tells us two things: First, the Congo is still, in many ways, a Belgian colony. Second, unlike Rwanda, the Congo has yet to take meaningful steps to free itself from colonial control, even though it has the means to do so. So, whatโ€™s this all about? FT reports a growing dispute over millions of colonial-era geological records held at Belgiumโ€™s Royal Museum for Central Africa in Tervuren. These records include detailed maps of Congoโ€™s mineral wealth from the colonial periodโ€”data that is extremely valuable today, given the countryโ€™s copper, cobalt, and lithium reserves. Kinshasa, together with US mining company KoBold Metals (backed by Bill Gates), agreed to digitise these records to better identify and exploit the resources. BUT Belgium said no. Instead, it launched its own EU-funded digitisation project, promising that the Congo will *eventually* gain access. At its heart, this story is about control. Whoever controls the data shapes investment, profits, and, yes, dependency. The FT frames it as a geopolitical and economic standoff between Belgium, the DRC, and a US-linked firm. But for ordinary Congolese, itโ€™s another reminder that even knowledge about their own land is still being negotiated elsewhere. Whatโ€™s perhaps more striking is the contrast with Rwanda. The small neighbour, often dismissed for having NO minerals, is in the process of finalising a national digital database of all its mineral wealth. Rwandaโ€™s Mining Board has already begun deploying a system designed to give investors and regulators transparent, online access to mining licences and geological data. Meanwhile, the โ€œgiantโ€ Congo is still effectively begging colonial powers for access to its own information. As weโ€™ve said, the West does not need Rwanda to access the Congoโ€™s minerals. That only becomes clear when westerners start squabbling over who controls the information about the Congoโ€™s wealth.

This CIA agent is carrying out a psyops operation to recruit willing agents, stir their anger and put guns in their hands to go and start killing in the name of religious war he was trying to inflame. In reality, the U.S. strategic interests in Nigeria is the massive mineral reserve of the middle belt of Nigeria. The mineral deposits that is estimated to be similar to that of democratic republic of the Congo. The seismic study of the mineral resources of the Benue and Niger basin, upto River Quorra (Kwara) is akin to that of the ones obtainable in the DRC. Once they set the region on fire, set neighbors against neighbors, itโ€™ll be cheaper for them to quietly evacuate the minerals while the people of the middle belt get into a destructive conflict. Just go back and look at the requests of Riley Moore albeit with intelligence eye. The special interest in the middle belt was for mineral resources, but masked as a security aid and community protection measure. I do sincerely hope that the people of the middle belt would not fall for this well known destructive trap. History is replete with such occurrences all over the world, in Sudan, Congo, Kurds etc. Nigerian government must take active measure in urgently arresting and prosecuting this guy, or repatriating him to his country and ban him from ever visiting Nigeria again. And Nigeria government should also up their game in dealing with issues of terrorism and terrorist activities in the middle belt and all over Nigeria. Nigeria government must take responsibility to fix our internal security issues and prevent merchants of violence from putting Nigeria into a very dangerous precedent. In case you donโ€™t know, what caused Rwandan genocide was not the hatred between the Tutsis and Hutus, that was just the trigger. The main cause of the genocide was the neighboring mineral rich democratic republic of the Congo. That was why they world did nothing as they killer themselves, then the managers of such violence came forward and promoted one of the warlords, Paul Kagame, to guarantee the peaceful evacuation of the minerals of the DRC. More that anything else, that led to the development of Rwanda. It wasnโ€™t Kagameโ€™s genius, but his ability to keep the minerals tap flowing to the instigators of the violenceโ€™s coffers, while maintaining the region in check on agreed terms. Nigerians should be too mature to be lured into such a trap.

'THE KING LEOPOLD OF 2024 IS PAUL KAGAME' Rwanda is under scrutiny for supporting M23 rebels in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) amidst M23 reportedly entering Goma city, forcing hundreds of thousands to flee. A June 2024 UN experts' report revealed that the central African state had dispatched as many as 4,000 troops to reinforce M23 insurgents and provided advanced weaponry and logistical assistance. Since the breakdown of peace talks between Rwandan and Congolese leaders in mid-December 2024, M23 has surged forward, seizing vast areas of mineral-rich land and claiming control of Goma, the capital of North Kivu province. Kambale Musavuli, a guest on our โ€˜Pan-African Attitudeโ€™ podcast in April 2024, drew a striking parallel between Rwandan President Paul Kagame and Belgian King Leopold II, notorious for his brutal exploitation of Congo, which he colonised from 1885 to 1908 as the โ€˜Congo Free State.โ€™ Kambale, a Congolese native and an analyst with the Center for Research on Congo-Kinshasa, explains that Rwanda serves as a crucial conduit for Congo's mineral wealth, a reality Kagame has acknowledged. Just as Leopold mercilessly extracted rubber from Congo over a century ago to fuel the United States' burgeoning automotive industry, Musavuli contends that Kagame permits the West and its allies to smuggle Congolese minerals essential for electric vehicles (EVs) to facilitate the West's clean energy shift. Approximately 6 million Congolese had been k*lled between 1998 and 2010 and over 7 million have been displaced in the country's three-decade resource war, which also features horrific s*xual and human rights abuses.

KAGAME ADMITS DRC PLUNDER GOES THROUGH RWANDA With the Kigali-backed M23 rebels making rapid gains in eastern DRC, hereโ€™s a flashback to 2022 - when Rwandaโ€™s president, Paul Kagame, openly admitted that plundered loot from the neighbouring Congo went through his country. But instead of taking responsibility, he attempts to deflect blame. He urges his audience to focus on the final destinations of the stolen minerals - he cites Dubai, Brussels, Tel Aviv - claiming that if Kigali stopped the flow, thereโ€™d be trouble for Kigali. But this lame excuse is a calculated deception: Rwanda isnโ€™t merely a transit point, itโ€™s one of the biggest profiteers from Congoโ€™s suffering. Despite having almost no mineral reserves of its own, Rwanda has become one of the world's leading exporters of coltan and gold, all of which are overwhemingly mined in the DRC. Moreover, the UN has pointed the finger at Rwanda, saying there is strong evidence itโ€™s backing the atrocities-committing M23, and has sent up to 4,000 of its own soldiers over the border to assist the rebels in their deadly mine-grabbing rampage. So while Kagame might be right that the buyers of plundered Congolese wealth are guilty of fanning the war, his shameless attempt to pass the buck ignores the fact that Rwanda is a central player in this blood-stained supply chain. His hands are far from clean.

HOW THE WEST ENABLES RWANDA TO LOOT CONGO Kayumba Nyamwasa, former Rwanda Army chief of staff and head of Rwandan intelligence from 1998 to 2002, dropped a bombshell on 2 February when he told @newzroomafrikaโ€™s Aldrin Sampear that Western countries like France, the United Kingdom and the United States do not comment on Rwandaโ€™s military operations in neighbouring countries like Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Mozambique because Rwandan companies process smuggled minerals that benefit said Western powers. The recent escalation in violence as the Rwanda- and Uganda-backed M23 militia seized mineral-rich lands in eastern DRC on its way to entering Goma city has renewed the conversation about Rwandaโ€™s and Ugandaโ€™s roles in the foreign-instigated three-decade-long conflict over resources. How the West has ignored Rwandaโ€™s activities contrasts sharply with sanctions imposed against Rwanda and aid cuts in 2012 that forced M23 to go underground. As early as 1998, Burundian, Rwandan, Ugandan and/or Rally for Congolese Democracy (RCD) soldiers emptied DRC warehouses. The looting remains a prominent feature across successive proxy campaigns, casting doubt on claims that Rwanda or M23 intervenes in the DRC only in the interests of marginalised Tutsis in the DRC. Since M23โ€™s resurgence in 2021, reportedly due to Rwanda fearing isolation following increased DRC-Uganda cooperation, the militia has displaced hundreds of thousands of people in eastern DRC. Reports indicate M23 is closing in around the city of Bukavu after entering Goma on 27 January. In Rubaya, which M23 captured in 2024, the group has generated around $300,000 monthly in taxes from tantalum mining. Video credit: @newzroomafrika (X)

Itโ€™s inconceivable to hear a mission to the United Nations utter that a country like Rwanda โ€” 1) which following the most horrific & well planned genocide in the history of humanity, enabled by the same UN, USA and France, with permanent seats in the UN Security Council, and during its 30 years of reconstruction, has put a nation-wide institutional emphasis on unity, the living-together, the removal of division & toxic differences, the rebuilding of a cohesive nation where nation prevails over colonially-masterminded ethnicity, 2) which champions in gender equality with over 50% of women in parliament and is a safe haven for the LGBTQ community, 3) which has promoted & implemented transitional justice through home-grown solutions like Gacaca, a system which has allowed victims and perpetrators to rebuild their lives and fight against hate ideology side by side, 4) which has been at the forefront of the promotion and implementation of regional, continental and global peace, neutralizing terror in CAR, in Mozambique, contributing to peace solutions in Haiti, and has initiated, alongside the Netherlands and the USA, the 2015 Kigali Principles on the Protection of Civilians which "pledges for the effective and thorough implementation of the protection of civilians in UN peacekeeping", 5) which for 20 years, despite having to rebuild every institution and social service from ashes, has championed in UN peacekeeping around the world, becoming the 4th top contributor to UN peacekeeping missions after Bangladesh, Nepal, and India, and ahead of all the permanent Security Council members "lecturing" Rwanda today about "peace" in Congo, 6) which has signed and fulfilled its part of every regional and international peace agreement on DRC, 7) which is hosting 100,000 Congolese refugees expelled out of their own country and ancestral land for being perceived as "foreigners", "occupiers", "differently looking", "speaking their language", after they have been dehumanized, robbed of their modes of subsistence, lynched and raped, โ€” supposedly, according to the DRC representative to the UN, โ€œopposes itself to the โ€œHutuโ€ in Rwandaโ€ and is supposedly โ€œan aggressorโ€ in Congo where 260 armed groups operate freely, killing their own people and raping their own women, who fight alongside the DRC government itself which supplies them weapons and logistical support, and the FDLR whose members perpetrated the 94 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, whose hate ideology and anti-Tutsi xenophobia has permeated every part of the the Congolese society and institutions, and all this in broad daylight and in full impunity, on the watch of the UN Security Council and its peacekeeping mission MONUSCO, โ€œlecturingโ€ Rwanda today about peace in Congo, emboldening Congo to keep the violence and chaos status quo, when in fact it is Congo they should be โ€œlecturingโ€ about peace and holding themselves accountable for their 25 years of presence without result.

#DRC #FDLR #M23 #Rwanda #Genocide_against_Tutsi ๐Ÿ”ดA historical capture by #M23 of high-ranking #FDLR officers having participated in the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda & responsible for 30 years of violence in #DRC. โžก๏ธ Brigadier Gen. Ezรฉchiel GAKWERERE, who according to ICG Africa Report Nยฐ151 โ€“ 9 July 2009 ("Congo: A Comprehensive Strategy to Disarm the FDLR") is among those who "played major roles in leading the 1994 genocide [against the Tutsi in Rwanda]", was handed over to Rwandan authorities today, along with two dozens of his FDLR militiamen. โžก๏ธ Major Gilbert NDAYAMBAJE (a.k.a Castro Rafiki) was also repatriated. Following his surrender in 2016, MONUSCO turned him over to the Government of DRC (S/2016/1102). In September 2018, he was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison by a military tribunal in Bukavu, for the murder & torture of civilians in the villages of Kamananga & Lumenje (South Kivu). โžก๏ธTheir capture and handover today provides tangible evidence that the government of Tshisekedi has put into action its threat of "regime change" in Rwanda by integrating into its national army, former Ex-FAR/intarahamwe genocidaires & masterminds of anti-Tutsi genocide ideology, responsible for the ethnic cleansing of Congolese Tutsi since 1994. โžก๏ธThis event happens when the international community, its mouthpiece @UN_BintouKeita / MONUSCO in #DRC, under the leadership of Jean-Pierre Lacroix, mandated by the #UNSC, accuse Rwanda of "violating the territorial integrity of DRC", whereas Rwanda maintains existential "preventive defensive measures" at its border with #DRC. โžก๏ธThis historical capture of high-ranking #FDLR commanders is evidence that Kinshasa's official support of #FDLR, endorsed by MONUSCO which collaborates with Kinshasa instead of neutralizing #FDLR as its mandate originally states, represent a tangible threat to the security of the Rwandan people, who 30 years ago, were at the verge of extermination at the hands of the same #FDLR genocidal militia.
