Notably, we are paying all political appointees that served under the past APC administration their half-salary arrears, including former Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji. Political differences must never degenerate into violence, intimidation, or attacks on citizens exercising their constitutional rights. Democracy thrives on dialogue, tolerance, and respect for the rule of law. I urge all residents to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding. Additional security measures are being activated across vulnerable locations, and my administration remains fully committed to protecting lives, property, and the peace of Osun State. May God grant speedy recovery to the injured and continue to preserve the peace of our beloved state.

When Governor Adeleke met with the “Federal might," it was a normal visitation, but when the APC governorship candidate, AMBO, met with the “Federal might," it was bragging—OKAY! The president of Nigeria is an APC member. He has the right to support any APC members vying for election in Nigeria. Under President Tinubu's administration, we witnessed a free, fair, and less violent election in Nigeria. Recall the 2022 election: an APC member, FPMBUHARI, was the president in 2022, yet you didn’t accuse the OSUN APC of “Federal Might” when we lost to ADELEKE. It’s now that you all are playing a pity game. The Osun election is about grassroots political workings and not social media politics. The margins in the Osun election are always closer between the APC and the PDP, regardless of the candidates both parties presented. The Osun election is always tied—this already refutes your “wide margin speculation.” These are the results of the last two elections in Osun State. Osun 2022 result. PDP—403,371 APC—375,073 Osun 2018 result APC—255, 505 PDP—255,023 The current political structures don’t favor Adeleke. The Presidency appears to be upset because the presidential candidate of the NDC, Peter Obi, called for the resignation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It is important to understand that many of the criticisms being made today are not new to Nigerian politics. Similar criticisms and demands were made by opposition figures, including Bola Tinubu himself, during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan. It is also important for Nigerians to remember that the current President was one of the leading figures of the opposition movement that challenged the government of the day and ultimately contributed to a historic political transition. That is why we must continue to speak up, peacefully and lawfully, in pursuit of a better Nigeria. We should not allow those who exercised their right to criticize previous governments to deny others that same right today. A healthy democracy thrives on accountability, constructive criticism, and the freedom of citizens to express their views without fear. The journey toward a better Nigeria must continue.

These acts are not ordinary criminal activities but appear to be part of a calculated attempt by desperate elements in the opposition APC to undermine and discredit the remarkable achievements of the current administration ahead of the forthcoming governorship election. Having failed to match the Governor’s impressive record of performance, these elements seem determined to destroy the very projects that are transforming communities across the state in order to create a false impression of government failure. These acts of sabotage is strongly condemned in the strongest terms and those behind them should know that public infrastructure belongs to the people of Osun State, not to any political party. The destruction of roads, public facilities, streetlights, and other government assets is an attack on the collective interest of our citizens and will not diminish the resolve of Governor Adeleke to continue delivering dividends of democracy to every part of the state. Wait o, so Gov Sule didn’t consult his predecessors and other key stakeholders before announcing the consensus candidate of APC in Nasarawa state Here is former Governor, Al-Makura saying he wasn’t consulted before the Governor handpicked his will be successor For me, I feel this is not the right way to go, we all can see how it was done in Ogun state where everyone that is somebody, in APC in that state, including all the former Governors were properly consulted and carried along, hence, no rancor after the announcement If critical stakeholders like Al-Makura and former Governor Adamu Abdullahi were not consulted, then problem dy and I fear for our party in the state Love the way former IGP, Ciroma is going about with his consultations, this is despite the Governor’s decision to go ahead to pick a candidate The picture attached are the former IGP supporters escorting him everywhere he goes, so in terms of popularity, he is no pushover too The President should please interfere so that we don’t have internal problems in this dynamic state

Cllr Robin Hunter-Clarke says it as it is: “They don’t like change, do they?” 👇 The very first act of the new Reform administration at County Council was to support a proposal from the Chief Executive to abolish the three political assistant posts that the largest political groups are entitled to appoint. To be clear, nobody has lost their job. Any previous contracts ended with the election, and those positions will simply not be renewed. Our group was also entitled to appoint a political assistant. We could have insisted on keeping the scheme and taking our share of the benefit. We chose not to. The saving to the taxpayer is £163,000. Some opposition councillors argued that these roles are necessary. We disagree. Councillors are elected to represent residents, scrutinise decisions and make political arguments. Taxpayers should not be expected to fund what are in effect party-political staff to do that for them. We were told we don’t know what we are talking about. They didn’t realise that although a lot of our Councillors are new to local government and how it works - I am not! More importantly, the council’s financial position is extremely serious. We cannot continue with the mindset that every existing cost is untouchable. The old way of doing things has brought local government to a point where difficult decisions are unavoidable. Everything must be looked at. Everything must be challenged. Everything must justify its existence. When councils are under immense financial pressure, spending £163,000 on political assistants is exactly the kind of cost that should be questioned. This decision alone will not solve the council’s financial problems. But it sends a clear message about the direction of travel. The culture has to change. For too long there has been an assumption that because something has always existed, it should continue to exist. We reject that thinking. We refuse to join the club. Residents expect us to treat public money with the same care they treat their own household budgets. That’s exactly what we intend to do. The era of business as usual is over. So when you see a situation like that, you will wonder if these guys are serious at all, says ADC Chieftain, Dele Momodu. Strike: Wike Approves Over N12bn January Salaries of FCTA Workers, Dismisses Blackmail The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revealed that he has just signed January salaries of the FCT Administration workers amounting to over N12bn immediately after the Court ruling, suspending the strike embarked on by the workers. The Minister stated this while addressing journalists in his office after the court ruling. Wike insisted that the government has largely met workers’ legitimate demands despite the ongoing strike. He added that the strike had been hijacked by political interests, forcing the administration to seek legal intervention to prevent a breakdown of order. “I just signed January salaries amounting to over ₦12 billion,” the minister said. “Yet the FCT is entitled to only one per cent of federal revenue. If the Federal Government earns ₦1 trillion, the FCT gets about ₦10 billion. That allocation alone cannot even cover salaries, not to talk of running the administration.” He explained that the government initially chose dialogue and engagement when the strike began, noting that it did not rush to court. “When the strike started, we believed in dialogue. We felt the issues could be resolved through discussion. But when it became clear that politicians have hijacked the strike, we had no choice but to go to court and allow the law to decide,” Wike stated. The minister acknowledged workers’ rights in a democracy but insisted that strike action should always be a last resort. “This is a democracy. Everyone has the right to protest. But if workers made 14 demands and government addressed like 10, there should be room for understanding and patience,” he said. Drawing from his experience as a former governor and local government chairman, Wike said he understood labour struggles but warned against unrealistic demands. “When demands are legitimate, government should acknowledge them. But it is not always possible to implement everything at once. Government does not deny legitimate entitlements, especially wages,” he added. Wike also dismissed claims that he was chased out of office during the strike, describing such reports as false and politically motivated. “I was in my office, went to the airport to see Mr President, travelled to Turkey, and returned. These stories are deliberate misinformation,” he said. On revenue challenges, the minister disclosed that the administration has significantly improved Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), increasing it from about ₦9 billion when he assumed office to ₦30 billion. “When we take steps to improve IGR, people complain. But that progress is what sustains salaries, reforms, and development,” he said. He highlighted key reforms under the current administration, including the creation of the FCT Civil Service Commission, appointment of permanent secretaries, and establishment of the Office of the Head of Service. “Before now, workers retired at director level, but they can now rise to Permanent Secretary. This was made possible by the Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. "You cannot expect government to spend all available revenue on wages alone while neglecting massive infrastructure development,” Wike noted. Following the court order suspending the strike, the minister issued a stern warning to workers. “Disobeying the law has consequences.
