When he gets 30 touches a game both sides of the ball play better. 2. Michael Penix Jr and Drake London have so much chemistry it’s breaking bad. 2b. Michael Penix Jr. deserves all the credit in the world for coming back from 3 ACL tears to even get back on the field, let alone guide his team to a much needed win at Lambeau field. 3. The Green Bay Packers are broken and lost. They have to make some hard decisions. The Packers have the worst Offensive line in the NFL. They have no run game, can’t stop the run on defense and need more out of Jordan Love. Matt Lafleur has to ask Jordan Love to use his legs more as a runner and use creativity to supplement the run game with RPO’s and quick game as an extension of the run to open up holes for the RBs they have. Jordan Love, Matt Lafleur and Brian Gutenkust were all extended this offseason. If they don’t show life this season, someone has to go and it won’t be the QB.

These were the functional salary cap-related values to the Wolves in making that trade... - The trade got them below the 1st apron, which gave them the ability to take back more money in a subsequent trade (because you can't be over the 1st apron and take back more money than you send out in a trade). Technically, they took back more money in the Ayo Dosunmu trade, because it included Julian Phillips and his contract. But if you remember, the Conley trade happened two days before the deadline. They made the move in advance to open up the possibility of taking back more money in a trade for an expensive star (potentially Giannis). That was the theoretical value there, much more than it was about the value of bringing in Phillips. - They saved a lot of money on the luxury tax bill after paying nearly $100M in luxury tax for being above the 2nd apron the season before. - They created a $10.8M trade exception that they can use to absorb up to $10.8M in salary without sending money back. But using a trade exception hard caps you at the 1st apron and only lasts for 12 months. - Got off Rob Dillingham's contract that is set to pay him $6.9M this coming season and $8.8M the following season. This creates some space beneath the aprons that they could need if they are to re-sign Ayo Dosunmu. Also created another $6.6M trade exception when doing the Dillingham-Dosunmu trade, because the Wolves absorbed Dosunmu into the Alexander-Walker trade exception from last summer ($7.6M NAW trade exception, and Dosunmu made $7.5M). Transacting this way hard-capped the Wolves at the 1st apron, but at that point in time the deadline was about to pass, they weren't trading for Giannis or anyone else, meaning there was no cost to being hard-capped at the 1st apron for the rest of the season. The drivable par-4 12th hole at TPC Sawgrass has been modified again for this week's Players. As Scot Sherman (Love Golf Design) told me on the latest episode of Designing Golf, the lake on the left has been extended back toward the tee, allowing for more visibility of the location of the water. Also — and more interestingly — a bunker has been added on the right side of the fairway (see first image from 2025 vs. last image from 2026). This will likely complicate what has become the standard play when the tee is up: rip driver or 3-wood just right of the green and take what you get (see scatter plot from the third round last year). This year, no one will want to be stuck with that 40- to 50-yard bunker shot to a green that runs away toward water. We'll see how it works out. I'm not convinced the hole is salvageable.

Bob MacIntyre shot weekend rounds of 65 and 69 with 15 birdies to finish solo 4th at The Players Championship. It’s his best finish in the event and his best of the season so far. He said after: “No, it was stressful. I was actually struggling to eat early in the back nine. Yeah, it's what I want to do. It's where I want to compete. Obviously last year was a big kind of wake-up call for me in order to know that I can really compete at the top end of world golf. I had a chance today to do something very special that obviously Sandy was the last one to do it from our country. “Yeah, coming into that back nine, middle of that back nine I really thought I was in with a shout. The way I'm playing, driving it beautifully, putting unbelievable, it was just a matter of getting that ball inside 30 feet and then look out. Yeah, just disappointed with the bogeys on the back nine to finish, but yeah, I gave it a shot.” Bob is one of the best players in the world right now and he keeps putting himself in contention to win the big events.
