For those who foolishly convince themselves that every criticism of Peter Obi is proof of his relevance, they fundamentally misunderstand the issue. Peter Obi is not constantly criticized because he is indispensable to Nigeria's political future; he is criticized because he repeatedly says and does things that attract legitimate criticism. Politics is not a sanctuary from scrutiny. Anyone seeking to lead over 200 million people must be prepared to face tough questions, intense examination, and public accountability. No politician deserves endless applause, and no presidential aspirant should be placed on a pedestal beyond criticism. One of the primary reasons Peter Obi continues to attract criticism is his reckless relationship with facts. Time and again, he makes claims that collapse under the weight of verification. His recent story about spending days at the University of Southern California with a faculty supposedly dominated by ex-convicts including a dean who allegedly spent 28 years in prison and a registrar who also served a lengthy jail term was exposed as false amongst several others. When a man seeking the highest office in the country repeatedly circulates questionable stories and unverified claims, criticism is not persecution; it is a necessary response. Beyond that, Peter Obi has perfected the art of complaining without convincing solutions. He is quick to identify problems, quick to blame others and quick to paint gloomy pictures, yet consistently struggles to present comprehensive, practical and realistic alternatives. Anybody can diagnose problems; leadership is measured by the ability to solve them. Endless lamentation is not a development agenda. What is even more troubling is the obsession with negativity that defines much of his political messaging. Every success becomes a failure in his narrative. Every effort becomes worthless. Every development must be blackened to sustain a predetermined political storyline. He is quick to identify problems, quick to blame others and quick to paint gloomy pictures, yet consistently struggles to present comprehensive, practical and realistic alternatives. Anybody can diagnose problems; leadership is measured by the ability to solve them. Endless lamentation is not a development agenda. What is even more troubling is the obsession with negativity that defines much of his political messaging. No matter the progress recorded, no matter the achievements delivered, no matter the improvements made, everything must be dismissed, ridiculed, or deliberately ignored. Every success becomes a failure in his narrative. Every effort becomes worthless. Every development must be blackened to sustain a predetermined political storyline. Peter Obi's politics often gives the impression of a man who believes that because he failed, everyone else must fail as well. Rather than inspiring hope, encouraging confidence, or presenting superior alternatives, he appears more invested in forecasting doom, exaggerating setbacks, and undermining achievements. His political capital is built less on solutions and more on pessimism. Equally disturbing is the conduct of many of his supporters, whose devotion frequently resembles fanaticism rather than rational political engagement. A significant number seem incapable of separating facts from emotions or objective analysis from blind loyalty. Any criticism, no matter how valid, is automatically branded an attack. Any inconvenient fact is rejected. Any opposing viewpoint is demonized. For many of them, political loyalty has replaced critical thinking. The reality is straightforward: Peter Obi is criticized because his statements, conduct,inconsistencies and political approach invite criticism. He is not a victim of scrutiny; he is a beneficiary of the same democratic accountability that every public figure faces. If Peter Obi wants to lead Nigeria, he must learn to defend his claims with facts, answer difficult questions without excuses, and subject himself to the same standards he demands of others. Leadership is not about perpetual complaints, endless blame or cultivating a personality cult. It is about competence, credibility, responsibility and results. No politician is above accountability, and Peter Obi deserves no special exemption from it. #hallelujah

The Anambra election has come and gone, but Peter Obi has once again demonstrated his consistency, integrity, and compassion, qualities that continue to drive his passion for a new Nigeria. This is the consistency that reinforces my belief in him. Character is not situational, it is constant. Several people before the election, told him about the vote buying, and he said he won’t ever engage in such. Personally, I saw people being paid when we were in Onitsha down to other communities, and others not caring about the election. Different statements like, “This is not Peter Obi’s election, when his own comes, we will show them”. We don’t even know any of the candidates, it’s only Peter Obi we know” “This is the only time we can collect money oh, when Peter Obi’s own come, we will vote”. Even in his PU, it was relatively empty, only about 20-30 people were interested in the election, most of them old women. Some other people in the community came out when they heard Peter Obi was around to vote, some came late after the accreditation. I noticed a busload of people who came to vote. Over 100 people. They registered them to vote in his PU, they are not even from Anambra. The chaos that ensued was poetic. People stopped them. Still, Peter Obi welcomed everyone, saying, “Let them all vote.” He even went to the buses and greeted them with calmness to their surprise. The boys in the community said they don’t know who they are and refused them voting, Onyisi, they are here to vote against you they said. Peter Obi told them “They are voting against their own future not against me”. Someone even offered ₦5 million to them to buy the votes, but Peter Obi told the man about the Practicing School in the community that was razed by fire, he then said” Vote buying destroys, would you rather destroy or build”. He told the man the money would be used to build the foundation for the classrooms that burnt. Peter Obi wasn’t on the ballot, and yet his integrity still defined the atmosphere He won’t dictate how others should run their election, whether they are from his side of LP or not. He supports who he wants as an individual and casts his votes as one But the way the election has been made about him, shows how the ruling party revolve around him. Even those in the election, left the candidates, to discuss about Peter Obi. They want to claim where they do not belong. A sad attempt of elevating themselves to the level of Peter obi. Just this past week, while others were criminally vote buying, Peter Obi was giving. That is the difference between politics as usual and leadership with purpose. Throughout the week of election, Peter Obi was changing lives. On Oct 31, he donated ₦15 million to College of Nursing, Amichi, and ₦5 million to St. Felix Hospital. The next day, Nov 1, he extended his generosity to Dennis Memorial Grammar School (DMGS) Onitsha. Rested like the Saviour that he is on Sunday Nov 2nd, and continued doing good on the 3rd. On 4th, he donated ₦10 million to College of Nursing, Oji River, and ₦15 million on Nov 5 to College of Nursing, Adazi. That same day, he started the process to rebuild a school in Anambra that was razed by fire, and children have been learning under a tree and a half destroyed over crowded classroom. The Anambra election has come and gone, but Peter Obi has once again demonstrated his consistency, integrity, and compassion, qualities that continue to drive his passion for a new Nigeria. This is the consistency that reinforces my belief in him. Character is not situational, it is constant. Several people before the election, told him about the vote buying, and he said he won’t ever engage in such. Personally, I saw people being paid when we were in Onitsha down to other communities, and others not caring about the election. Different statements like, “This is not Peter Obi’s election, when his own comes, we will show them”. We don’t even know any of the candidates, it’s only Peter Obi we know” “This is the only time we can collect money oh, when Peter Obi’s own come, we will vote”. Even in his PU, it was relatively empty, only about 20-30 people were interested in the election, most of them old women. Some other people in the community came out when they heard Peter Obi was around to vote, some came late after the accreditation. I noticed a busload of people who came to vote. Over 100 people. They registered them to vote in his PU, they are not even from Anambra. The chaos that ensued was poetic. People stopped them. Still, Peter Obi welcomed everyone, saying, “Let them all vote.” He even went to the buses and greeted them with calmness to their surprise. The boys in the community said they don’t know who they are and refused them voting, Onyisi, they are here to vote against you they said. Peter Obi told them “They are voting against their own future not against me”. Someone even offered ₦5 million to them to buy the votes, but Peter Obi told the man about the Practicing School in the community that was razed by fire, he then said” Vote buying destroys, would you rather destroy or build”. He told the man the money would be used to build the foundation for the classrooms that burnt. Peter Obi wasn’t on the ballot, and yet his integrity still defined the atmosphere He won’t dictate how others should run their election, whether they are from his side of LP or not. He supports who he wants as an individual and casts his votes as one But the way the election has been made about him, shows how the ruling party revolve around him. Even those in the election, left the candidates, to discuss about Peter Obi. They want to claim where they do not belong. A sad attempt of elevating themselves to the level of Peter obi. Just this past week, while others were criminally vote buying, Peter Obi was giving. That is the difference between politics as usual and leadership with purpose. Throughout the week of election, Peter Obi was changing lives. On Oct 31, he donated ₦15 million to College of Nursing, Amichi, and ₦5 million to St. Felix Hospital. The next day, Nov 1, he extended his generosity to Dennis Memorial Grammar School (DMGS) Onitsha. Rested like the Saviour that he is on Sunday Nov 2nd, and continued doing good on the 3rd. On 4th, he donated ₦10 million to College of Nursing, Oji River, and ₦15 million on Nov 5 to College of Nursing, Adazi. That same day, he started the process to rebuild a school in Anambra that was razed by fire, and children have been learning under a tree and a half destroyed over crowded classroom. There's this part in the interview where the host asked what they worry about most when it comes to each other, and Gawin's answer was that he doesn't really worry about Joss. His reason was that Joss is the kind of person who, when he says he's going to do something, he always follows through. Not only that, he does it well. He puts everything he has into it until it's done right. And honestly, the more I think about that answer, the sweeter it feels. Because I think it says a lot about how Gawin sees Joss as a person, someone stable, someone dependable, someone who takes care of the people around him. Someone Gawin knows he can lean on when things get difficult, the kind of person whose presence alone makes you feel like everything is going to be okay. Sometimes “I don't worry about him” doesn't mean you care less. Sometimes it means you trust someone so completely that worrying never even crosses your mind. And I don't know... I just find that incredibly endearing.
