After much thought I have officially entered the transfer portal and am excited for the next chapter of my baseball journey. I’m looking forward to finding my next home and embracing the opportunities ahead. Thank you to DBU and Coach Heefner for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be part of a special program. I’m especially grateful to my teammates for their friendship, support & the memories we’ve shared along the way. (A few swings from 2 of my starts.)

“You will never be at a championship level at home, the demands of a college coach are extremely high to have success but I’ve always said, It’s not a balance at home, it’s a blend…We have a work life blend” - Marcus Freeman Coach Freeman spoke very candidly about the demands of a college head coach, & the sacrifices it takes from his family especially his wife Joanna. Lunches at school, and quick office visits from the kids are necessities in order to find the right blend of work and home life. Freeman also knows he needs to set the example of a “Family man” for his locker room. He doesn’t believe that he can do that through “Rah Rah” speeches. He knows it’s about setting an example that can be seen by each of the young men he has the responsibility of coaching. It’s not a perfect science, but it teaches extremely important lessons. I get the question everyday as to what my role, title or position is/was on the team. To be clear… I didn’t have one and thank God Coach Day didn’t give me a role because it allowed me to add value, speak freely and contribute wherever I seen it to be necessary. Ohio State Football Ryan Day Thanks again to UConn Men's Basketball for allowing me to exist in a very similar capacity. Coach Hurley and the crew sort of started me out in this space. I learned a ton about being a champion from being in that environment and I’ve been able to share it with others I’ve come in contact with…... I talk about them at the end of this video. Dan Hurley But most importantly thanks to my main man Jim Tressel for creating the sit down between me and Coach Day last summer. His finger print and handprint is on this whole deal. He doesn’t search for any credit but I’ll give it to him. Im proud to have first class relationships with top tier individuals. Video credit is to the wonderful Holly Rowe …. Let’s stop acting like Micah Parsons walked into the Dallas Cowboys’ locker room & decided to crap on Mike McCarthy. He was asked about McCarthy’s job security, & he responded with, “It’s above my pay grade.”. Micah Parsons instead chose to focus on Zack Martin, & give the perspective all players have. We play for our brothers, & we respect those who go through the daily grind of what this game demands from them. To be real, if the coach doesn’t build a special relationship with you, you won’t have a special relationship. He just stated the obvious. Zack has given more to the organization than McCarthy ever will. #MicahParsons #ZackMartin #DallasCowboys #NFL
