The Lost Legend Of British Boxing - #RIP The Thomas A Becket (320 #OldKentRoad, South #London, #SE1) 🥊⏳️🍻 #RIP to a legend in the boxing world. This pub once hosted an almighty boxing gym that saw and produced world-class fighters. As well as this, the pub was a chance for local people to earn a few bob or even make themselves wealthy. Just like the Docklands of #EastLondon, this area of #SouthLondon was made up of dock workers living in pre/post war #England. The people of south London's Docklands had next to nothing other than each other, be it for better or for worse. Generations of #Londoners witnessed the massive changes that saw them move out to suburbs like #Kent, leaving this once proud area to become hyper-modernized. The pubs name related to the days of Norman monarchs who were originally Vikings that settled in northern France in the 9th century. In recent times, they're referred to as French and spoke what we often refer to as a French language (Norman). Not only was this venue a place to earn some money, but it was a much needed socializing and venting spot for countless individuals with nothing else to vent their weekly woes. Be it legitimate, or the world of villainy, this pub was more of a home to many people than wherever they slept. So long to the people and the memories that derive from one of London's most impoverished, toughened, and united areas. Today the area is a prime example that just because you fill something up, doesn't mean it isn't empty. Our recent ancestors may have had less than us, but they had far more grit and stoic strength than most today could imagine. #RIP ⚰️ Thank you for all for the support. It means the world to us. 🤝 Join us on YouTube for a host of episodes covering Britain's lost and living pubs. ▶️ 🎥 Chelsea Dan 🎙 Vinnie Sullivan

Pub goers of 1967 discussing the absolute audacity of the incoming laws to make drink-driving illegal in the UK. "The pedestrian could have too much to drink. He could cause an accident. He doesn't get tested. It's the driver who gets tested, and I think that's unfair. "

The Barren Nature Of #WestHam Stadium & It's Suffeing Pub Scene - #Stratford, #London ⚒️ 🎙 Vinnie Sullivan 🎥 Chelsea Dan One needn't love #football or alcohol to understand the importance of #Stadiums and their surrounding #pubs. The changing of our world has taken place without it's inhabitants wants or needs in mind. Today's youth may believe such a world is impressive, but that's only because they've nothing to compare it to. The new #WestHam stadium is a beshmerchment on the memory of #UptonPark, and that of #Stratford. Now, you're ferried in and out like a posh restaurant with little room to socialise or bond. ■ The allelopathy of a poisoned weed has overgrown, killed & replaced our roots. 🖊 Vinnie Sullivan You Tube:

The Male Choir from Treorchy, Wales, singing Myfanwy in a pub on a 1986 TV show called Corau Mawr and reenacting their origins when the choir formed in 1883. Myfanwy" is a secular love song, specifically a "saddest love song" or lament, popular with Welsh male voice choirs. ⏳️🤝🍻

The Home of Execution, Empire, and Fine Ale - The Hand and Shears, 1 Middle St, #Barbican, #London, #EC1A 🍻 Join us myself, (Vinnie Sullivan), Sandy Spangenberg, Alex (The Wondering Englishman), and Nick Collins as we venture into the Hand and Shears to discuss the beauty, history, and meaning of a public house that means the world to London's past, present, and future. We would, of course, like to extend a special thanks to Carl for welcoming us and taking part in the video. If we had a few more like him then London's pub scene would be far better off. The Smoking Ban 🚫 🚬 Pubs, clubs, and Britian as a whole were deeply affected by the "Smoking Ban" and the precedent that it set. We all have our opinions, just as we all have our own desires. But it seems the opinions and desires of some outweighed that of others. This is a brief overview discussing the other side of the coin. We hope you understand that we respect people's right to want their own spaces, but not to dictate how others should operate within theirs. ▶️ Join us on YouTube for a host of episodes covering Britain's lost and living pubs. 🎥 Chelsea Dan 🎙 Vinnie Sullivan

The Tragic State of East #London's Pubs ⚰️ 🍻 🎙 Vinnie Sullivan 🎥 Chelsea Dan #EastLondon is a prime location to see the drastic death of Britain's public houses. Across Britain, pubs are closing or being changed into gastro-bars on mass. East London acts as a showroom to their overall decline as wherever one turns, a ghost is stating back at you. This short video is but a taste of the depressive nature that London, and our work uncovering its dying pubs, truly feels. #RIP 🤝 You Tube (High Quality) Pub Instagram:

The ‘Prospect of Whitby’ - A Home For Pirates, Scoundrels and Scallywags (57 #Wapping Wall, #London, #E1W) 🏴☠️🦜🍻 We were given exclusive access to the upstairs of one of #London's oldest and most famous pubs. The Prospect of Whitby is both a museum and a relic to Great #Britain. This was once one of the most dangerous places one could drink whichever side of the law you sat. A range of interesting people, both historic and contemporary, have drank within its walls. The Prospect, like a few other pubs, claims to be the oldest (Thames) Riverside pub in #London. We could have spoken about this pub and its history for hours, but narrowed it down to just under half an hour. Wapping wasn't only dangerous in the golden age of piracy, but it was a vital part of London's shipping trade during the lead up and the height of the British empire. These streets and the warehouses that are now expensive apartments were once the grotty and tough places that the dockers and light men of London endured day in, day out. We would like to thank the staff for facilitating us as it always makes things more special for us and, therefore, the viewer. ▶️ Join us on YouTube for a host of episodes covering Britain's lost and living pubs. 🎥 Chelsea Dan 🎙 Vinnie Sullivan

Manchester’s Magnificent ‘Peveril of the Peak’ Pub - 127 Great Bridgewater St, #Manchester, #M1 🍻 The Pevril Of The Peak (1820) is an 'Arts and Crafts' grade II listed masterpiece that was a comforting and neccesery respite during Manchester’s industrial age. When I visit Manchester, I tend to head straight for this little gem where I fall in love with it all over again. You will see this pub painted and photographed in abundance on social media, and it's clear to see why when you're in its presence. Today, the pub boasts a welcoming atmosphere and a reassuring escape from the world outside. ⏳️ Join us on #YouTube for a host of episodes covering Britain's lost and living pubs. The Social and Cultural Significance of #Britain’s Pubs 🤝 The public house has always been the difference between company and loneliness. This new world that takes comfort in the falseness of technology gives not a thought to what made the people we miss the most, so memorable, and so wholesome. 🎙 Vinnie Sullivan 🎥 Chelsea Dan 1080p Edition for (X/Twitter) Filmed at The Marquis 51-52 Chandos Pl, #London #WC2N You Tube (High Quality)
