Does anyone realize that if SpaceX pulls this off, Terafab would become the largest building ever constructed by floor area? More than 100 million square feet of manufacturing space, over 5x the floor area of the current largest building on Earth. I wanted to wait before reporting because news was coming out quite rapidly after the until announcement. SpaceX and Tesla are planning to invest roughly $16.8 billion in the initial buildout in Grimes County, Texas. It will manufacture, package and test advanced logic and memory chips under one roof because their combined demand is expected to exceed 1 terawatt of compute, more than the current global supply. The buildout is already so massive that ASML, (the only supplier of the most advanced EUV lithography machines) is factoring Terafab demand into its own 2027 and 2028 capacity plans. Elon’s rough estimate is that 25% of its AI compute output will go toward Tesla Optimus and the other 75% toward AI spacecraft. ASML has to plan years in advance for the sheer amount of chipmaking capacity Elon wants for robots and ‘ai spacecraft’

Kimi K3 was already in internal evaluation by April/May, before Fable 5 had been available long enough to be a plausibly distilled. I’ll wait for the evidence from the USG if they’ll publish it. However Kimi already outperformed Fable on BrowserComp, so if K3.1 beats Fable 5 on coding benchmarks, are people going to claim it distilled Fable 6? Obviously it’s not only distillation here. Saying “mythos” would have made a lot more sense but fable ?

I took Karpathy’s experiment and pushed it into Star Wars. I gave Opus 5 Max the opening scene of A New Hope, it formulated and made every single Star Wars SVG, and recreated the entire sequence in Three.js as LEGO. (Including all editing, voices, etc) It worked for 8 hours and actually completed the full opening scene. For me, this represents a far more artful and aesthetically coherent direction for AI filmmaking than end to end diffusion. By 2029, I expect a proliferation of short form fan films created by pairing models like these with Blender and other 3D rendering software.

Claude Opus 5, I think we’ve reached the inflection point where AI can produce indie quality assets for video games. This is after my second prompt, just simply telling it to increase the quality. Some of these angles on the car are truly stunning and I can 100% say they look better than a lot of Indie games I’ve recently played.

I literally just watched GPT-5.5 via codex beat an Amazon customer associate in real time. 💀 I asked it to get me a refund, and I watched it navigate the settings, cancel the subscription, then it went step further into the help page. I thought it was going to request a phone call (which would prompt me to take over) Instead, it opened: “Chat with an associate now.” That’s when I sat up on my couch because I knew it was going to get real The agent said: “Your subscription is active.” And GPT-5.5 immediately explained that it only shows as active because cancellation leaves access through the billing period, but that I wanted it stopped now and refunded. And my jaw just hung open, it was the first time I watched sand handle a customer service agent for me in real time Once the agent confirmed the refund, it just ended the chat no mercy no thank you LMAO First time I’ve watched a human customer service agent get outmaneuvered by AI in real time. And it made me 15$! almost paid for itself in 5 minutes

Apparently this video has all of X in a frenzy. If it had come out before the AI era, people would be fawning over it as great art, but now they are so clicker trained that any mention of AI sends them into a verbiage frenzy and they anoint anything AI related as slop.

Anthropic had 16 AI agents build a C compiler from scratch. 100k lines, compiles the Linux kernel, $20k, 2 weeks. To put that in perspective GCC took thousands of engineers over 37 years to build. (Granted from 1987 - however) One researcher and 16 AI agents just built a compiler that passes 99% of GCC's own torture test suite, compiles FFmpeg, Redis, PostgreSQL, QEMU and runs Doom. They say they "(mostly) walked away." But that "mostly" is doing heavy lifting. No human wrote code but the researcher constantly redesigned tests, built CI pipelines when agents broke each other's work, and created workarounds when all 16 agents got stuck on the same bug. The human role didn't disappear. It shifted from writing code to engineering the environment that lets AI write code. I don’t know how you could make the point AI is hitting a wall.

Claude 5 Fable (Ultracode) I asked it to build a demo of my dream game in Three.js and I'm genuinely shocked 💀 One shot, a full explorable starship with a working cockpit, crew quarters, a planet drifting past real windows, dynamic lighting, sleep/eat interactions, it screenshotted its own work and fixed itself until it hit 60fps on browser Obviously not steam ready but man this is so so far from what we had one year ago…

Fable 5 (max) “build a clash of clans clone” Fable absolutely destroys Sonnet 5, and I’ll show that in an upcoming comparison video. I did give it one follow-up while it was working, basically telling it I only needed a demo and didn’t need it to overthink the whole thing, so it ended up being only around 2,500 lines. The funny part is it still grabbed the Clash of Clans assets with no trouble, which genuinely surprised me. I missed this model so much.

He notes that to support this, a firm might buy $5 trillion worth of compute. However, he highlights a "ruinous" dilemma: if that revenue is even slightly lower than projected. specifically if it comes in at $800 billion instead of $1 trillion the company would collapse. He explains that if you are off by just a year or if the growth rate drops to 5x, "there's no force on earth, there's no hedge on earth, that could stop me from going bankrupt" after committing to that level of spend. Because of this, Amodei argues that "behaving responsibly" means not just "yoloing" hundreds of billions of dollars. He suggests that some competitors may not have "written down the spreadsheet" and don't fully grasp the existential risks they are taking with these massive, unhedged bets on infrastructure.
