Rewatching BATMAN BEGINS and I can't help but notice modern superhero films rarely have this kind of epic sense of grandeur anymore. BEGINS partially rocks because the first hour simply rules and we don't even see Bale as Batman until over an hour into the film.

I've read THE ODYSSEY contains some of the best spectacle in Christopher Nolan's career. I really believe Nolan has spent his entire career building up to this. For my money, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES contains some of Nolan's best action, notably the fight between Batman and Bane.

BATMAN BEGINS will always be my favorite Batman film for scenes like this. Christopher Nolan made Bruce Wayne a fully formed, multi-dimensional character for the first time in live-action. It's hard to explain how much of a breath of fresh air this was back in 2005.

I’m always happy to see THE DARK KNIGHT RISES discourse. Tom Hardy’s Bane is truly a phenomenal villain. Jonathan Nolan pitched the film as “What if the villain finally won?” and honesty the film rules because of moments like this.

Yes, I’m one of those that loves MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III. It’s so relentlessly high octane that it literally runs through the plot, but it helps redefine the series and the relationships around Ethan, plus Philip Seymour Hoffman is utterly fantastic.
