Alex Gibney at Venice: reusable rockets “weren’t new,” Elon Musk “isn’t the one who does it,” and “noble cause corruption” let America elect a president whose goal is to “destroy the planet.” Here's the fact check: Reusable ideas are old. Shuttle. DC-X. Paper rockets from the ’60s. What wasn’t old: landing an orbital-class booster and flying it again. First time was Falcon 9, Dec 21, 2015. First reuse: 2017. Shuttle: ~$54,000/kg. Falcon 9 reusable: ~$1,500–$3,000/kg. That’s a ~90%+ collapse in the cost of getting to space. Europe and ULA said it wouldn’t work. Elon Musk made it work. Yes, engineers build the hardware. Gwynne Shotwell runs the company. Tom Mueller designed the engines. Also true: without the person who put his last money on the line after three Falcon 1 failures and refused to treat the first stage as scrap, you get SLS and Ariane prices. Calling Tesla/SpaceX “Enron with better PR” is lazy. Enron and Theranos sold nothing. Tesla forced the global auto industry onto EVs. 20M+ electric cars sold worldwide in 2025. ~1.2 million barrels of oil displaced per day. US CO2 from energy is still ~18–20% below 2005. “Destroy the planet” is a sermon, not a measurement. You can argue energy policy. You cannot pretend the company that commercialized mass-market EVs and crashed launch costs is the same story as a blood-test fraud. Gibney didn’t interview Elon. He built a 4-hour morality play and cast “the end justifies the means” as the plot. The means here were cheaper access to space and cars that don’t burn gasoline. The documentary is the noble cause.

“How long would you want to live?” Elon asked the question first, and he kept saying: “One of the worst curses you could possibly give anyone would be, “May you live forever.” Then he said the line that actually matters: “I’ve long thought that longevity or semi-immortality is an extremely solvable problem. I don’t think it’s a particularly hard problem.” His reason was simple. The body ages in sync. Nobody has an old left arm and a young right arm. So the clock must be obvious. “This is the way you’re programmed to die. If you change the program, you will live longer.” Bowhead whales get 200 years. Greenland sharks get 500. Why them and not us? Hardware or software — and the tech to solve it is coming. The only rule added: don’t die of something stupid before the solution arrives. Peter Diamandis offered him to upload his full genome. Elon laughed: “Don’t clone me, bro.” Too late, they said. It’s already in the works.🤣 Elon doesn’t want forever. He wants enough time for humans to leave the solar system.💫

Elon was asked at the end of an interview, point-blank -Do you believe in God? He didn’t give a church answer. He didn’t give an atheist one either. “I believe there’s some explanation for this universe, which you might call God.” Then the interview ended. Handshakes. Thank yous. He stood up, walked to an empty white desk, sat down alone, and looked at his phone. No sermon. Just that.

Elon Musk explained why he has to control at least 25% TESLA vote - "I’m not going to build a robot army if I can be easily kicked out by activist investors. No way." "So, my concern for the future—because the Tesla thing is called sort of compensation, but really, it’s not about compensation. It’s not like I’m going to go out and buy a yacht with it or something. It’s just that if I’m going to build up Optimus and have all these robots out there, I need to make sure we do not have a Terminator scenario and that I can maximize the safety of the robots. I feel like I need to have something like a 25% vote, which is enough of a vote to have a strong influence, but not so much of a vote that I can’t be fired if I go insane. But my concern would be creating this army of robots and then being fired for political reasons because ISS and Glass Lewis effectively fire me—or the activists at those firms fire me—even though I’ve done everything right. That’s my concern. And then I cannot ensure the safety of the robots."

Everyone should watch this. This is hilarious! 🤣 I found the original video where Ashley St. Clair claims Elon Musk texted her saying to unleash the anomaly in the Matrix with “10,000 Space Lasers." 🛰️🛰️🛰️ It makes me laugh even harder when I see that she changed Elon’s profile picture to the “Elon Nazi salute” and added the contact name as “Elon (ex)”.🤣

This was Elon and Grimes first public appearance as a couple. They met online about a month earlier because of a very niche joke: Elon wanted to tweet a pun about “Roko’s Basilisk” (a thought experiment in which a future superintelligent AI might punish those who didn’t help bring it into existence). He planned to change “Roko” to “Rococo” (the ornate 18th-century artistic style) to make “Rococo Basilisk.” He then discovered that Grimes had already used the exact same joke three years earlier in her music video for “Flesh Without Blood,” even creating a character named Rococo Basilisk. Elon felt “finally someone gets this obscure joke,” so he reached out to her. They started dating soon after and chose the Met Gala as their first official public appearance. That night Elon also helped design Grimes’ dress (in a “glass and bone” aesthetic, plus a choker that was later mistakenly reported as a Tesla logo). He called the evening “date night.” Interestingly, Elon’s ex-girlfriend Amber Heard was also on the same red carpet that night.

Here's how Elon Musk found out Bill Gates has no basic physics. Gates showed up at Tesla Austin certain a long-range Semi could never work. Energy density? Efficiency? He didn't have a single number. Elon Musk: "You’d think that someone like Bill Gates, who clearly started a technology company that’s one of the biggest companies in the world—Microsoft—you’d think he’d be really quite strong in the sciences. But actually, at least from my direct conversations with him, he is not strong in the sciences. This was really surprising. He came to visit me at the Tesla Gigafactory in Austin and was telling me that it’s impossible to have a long-range semi-truck. And I was like, “Well, but we literally have them. And you can drive them. And Pepsi is literally using them right now. And you can drive them yourself or send someone. Obviously, Bill Gates is not going to drive it himself, but you can send a trusted person to drive the truck and verify that it can do the things that we say it’s doing.” And he’s like, “No, no, it doesn’t work. It doesn’t work.” And I’m like, “Okay.” I’m kind of stuck there. Then I was like, “Well, so it must be that you disagree with the watt-hours per kilogram of the battery pack. You must think that perhaps we can’t achieve the energy density of the battery pack, or that the watt-hours per mile of the truck is too high, and that when you combine those two numbers, the range is low. “And so, which one of those numbers do you think we have wrong, and what numbers do you think are correct?” And he didn’t know any of the numbers. And I’m like, “Well then, doesn’t it seem that it’s perhaps premature to conclude that a long-range semi cannot work if you do not know the energy density of the battery pack or the energy efficiency of the truck chassis?”

Elon Musk proposed to Talulah Riley just 2 weeks after they first met. They connected at London’s Whisky Mist nightclub in July 2008. After a whirlwind few days together, he looked at her and said: “I don’t want you to go home. I want to marry you.” No ring. Just a handshake. She said yes. Talulah Riley: "It all happened very fast. We became engaged after knowing each other for about two weeks. I was 22, and there were all these boys, which was the best part. Elon Musk explains how hard Starship was being made without AI. "Starship is really... we’re doing something at the limit of biological intelligence. This is a hard thing to make. The last really big thing was created pre-AI I think the AGI will say, “Not bad for a human.” Not bad for a human. My little 20-watt meat computer. It’s not easy. Suffering through the day. Not bad for a bunch of monkeys. It’s like if you saw a bunch of chimps make a raft and cross the river, you’d be like, “Oh, look at that.”

This is exactly why I support Elon Musk! Today Elon Musk open-sourced the algorithm and made every government censorship demand fully public. He isn’t some commentator preaching free speech from the sidelines. He’s a man with massive government contracts who still refuses to bend. Tucker Carlson: Have you received complaints from various governments about doing this? Elon Musk: I haven’t received any direct complaints, but I’ve had some indirect ones. I think people are a little concerned about complaining to me directly in case I tweet about it. They think, “Uh-oh.” So they tend to take a more roundabout approach. If I received a request from the U.S. government that was unconstitutional, my response would be to send them a copy of the First Amendment and ask, “Which part of this are we getting wrong? Please tell me.” Tucker Carlson: You have a lot of government contracts. I’m just curious. You’re exposed through your other businesses. For viewers who may not fully appreciate this, you’re not simply a journalist taking a stand for the First Amendment. You’re someone with major government contracts who is giving the finger to the government. Do you think Twitter will be as central to this presidential campaign as it was during the last several? Elon Musk: I think it will play a significant role in elections, not only domestically but internationally. The goal of the new Twitter is to be as fair and even-handed as possible: not favoring any political ideology, but simply being fair to everyone.
