A magazine-fed bow. Suddenly I'm a lot more interested in archery. No background check, no registration, no waiting period, because it isn't a firearm. Democrats can't stand that sentence. California Rep. Kevin Mullin already has a federal bill to reclassify high-powered airguns as firearms so the gun rules can reach them. That's the playbook. When the law can't touch something, Democrats change what the word "gun" means. Watch the engineering here and ask yourself how long before they come for this one.

Next time a stranger at a bar asks if you're a patriot, do not say yes. Chase Hughes walks through a hypothetical recruitment, and it starts with someone telling you he loves your podcast and then asking whether you'd consider yourself a patriot. That first yes is what he builds everything else on - your identity. Next he asks if you'd be willing to look at something that might be uncomfortable. Then he shows you your browsing history and webcam captures from your phones and computers, offers to keep it all out of the public eye, and puts $20,000 a month on the table. All you have to do is keep a few people off the show and leave a few things out, for your country. What gets me is that the protection covers more than your reputation. It also hands you a story you can live with, where every concession counts as service. "They don't build influencers. They find the ones who are already successful and recruit them." Apparently the benefits package includes getting to keep calling yourself independent. So be honest, has anybody here ever been approached with an indecent proposal?

Wildlife cameraman Gordon Buchanan had himself shut inside a clear box beside a seal's breathing hole in Svalbard so he could film a polar bear hunt from ice level. She walked right past the hole and spent about 40 minutes treating him like the seal. Somewhere in there he stops being the guy filming the hunt and turns into the problem she's trying to solve.

A husband files for divorce the day after his wedding, and his wife tells the judge it's because he finally saw her without makeup. Judge: "That's kind of shallow, don't you think?" Husband: "That would be completely shallow, Your Honor, and it's not the reason at all." Then he explains what he found out after she fell asleep on their wedding night: a trust fund that never existed, parents who were actors, and a government name that wasn't the one on the marriage license. The judge starts asking her questions, and she starts having trouble with the answers.

The Titanic never saw a wave like this. She went down on a sea as flat as glass, and this one is reported at about 82 feet, taller than an eight-story building. Nobody has confirmed that number, and some people watching think the whole clip is fake. If it's real, keep your eyes on the bow, because there is a crew behind it and their families had no idea this was happening. They're out there for a paycheck, and here's hoping a wave like this comes with hazard pay. Real or not, what would they have to pay you to stand on that bridge?

Kindergarten teacher claims half the class raised their hands wanting to be a different gender. The kids who didn’t got sent to the corner and told to be quiet. Then had them pick brand new names and pronouns. One chose “Cookie” and “zir.” Now wants the school board to approve weekly legal name and gender changes in the classroom. Might be parody. If it’s real, it meets the definition of child abuse under the new parental rights mandates.

Evangelist Bryce Crawford spent a week at Burning Man. Not to party — to preach. He told Shawn Ryan it was the darkest place he’s ever stood. Worse than the Satanic Temple, which he’d also evangelized in Salem. Seventy thousand people in the Nevada desert for a week straight. He wouldn’t get into most of what he saw. But he also said the conversations out there were some of the best of his life. People who came looking for something real, more open to talking about God than anyone he meets door to door. Would you send your kid on a mission trip to Burning Man?

Something strange changed on the new stamps honoring America’s founders. Once you see it, you’re going to wonder why they did it.

It started with a baby crocodile small enough to swim in their bathtub. They took it home, fed it, and raised it like a pet. The problem with bringing home a baby crocodile is that eventually it stops being a baby. What they ended up living with is hard to believe.

She asked him to define CRT with no buzzword and no conservative talking point. He led with Marcuse. She didn’t ban the history. The history he gave is the talking point: Marcuse to the Frankfurt School to Marxism, then DEI, the 1619 Project, and wokeism, treated as one lineage. CRT started in American law schools in the late 1970s with Derrick Bell, Kimberlé Crenshaw, and Richard Delgado. The Frankfurt School is an ancestor of critical theory. It is not where CRT was written. In his own words, it came down to judging people by skin instead of character, reading law through a racial lens instead of a legal one. What that’s actually gesturing at: racism as structural, not just personal. Color-blind law treated as not enough on its own. He also added things the literature doesn’t say. Spinoza is not in CRT’s founding texts. “Melanin content” as a ranking of worth is his paraphrase, not a line from any of them. Then he asked how he did.

They call her Islamophobic, so she pulls out the photos and makes her argument: Iran before and after the Islamic Revolution. Afghanistan before and after the Taliban. Then she turns to Europe and Michigan and asks a pretty straightforward question: How is any of this good for women? Watch the clip and hear her argument for yourself.

Jonathan Kite’s Anthony Bourdain impressions are criminally underrated. This Outback Steakhouse one might be the best of the series — the voice, the cadence, that perfect mix of dry contempt and reluctant appreciation. “A carnivorous caricature of Australian kitsch, where the only thing authentic is the accent in the commercials.” He’s got a whole series of these.
