2/2: Contrasting swing style to Colin that I just posted. Both winners. Both work. Don’t let anyone tell you there’s only one way, or “shallow is dead” or whatever. They are full of s**t. Golf has historically had misguided concepts and with social media, more so. I’m swing style agnostic but like a swing to be efficient as the ball responds to physics not magic. You should to.

One of the best “classic” swing styles you’ll ever see. Geometry, sync and efficiency are pretty perfect. Many of my ideals in it. None of this contrived, complicated match-up stuff that many are throwing into the game. Club works up simply (not too much arm depth), lead wrist slightly flexed, trail side and arm plane shallow in transition, body opens and sidebends at impact. All in a second with very little thought. Stunning and a joy to watch and study. So much great footage coming to my Youtube on this.

Chipping- “The body is the motor. The arms hang on for the ride as the wrists create the artistry”- JY. Tiger at Augusta now, standing close and open at address. Watch the glove in back pocket as the motor (hips) gently rotates. 👌🏼 two different releases here as he hits subtle side spins to access tight pins.

This pitching style produces high spin and predictable trajectory making distance control easy. Goes like this Set up: narrow stance, hands and ball position neutral, clubface slightly open, weight hint left. Swing: Rib cage rotation is the engine. Wide back and through so club skids with slight shaft lean. Ball launches mid-20 degrees with a 58. Body raises up and backs up a hint. Pretty skilful but you can at least get it “wide to wide” to let the club skid not dig. Video Parker McLachlin

The other day I posted a key move great ball strikers do which we call “going around the corner”. Here’s another key move that’s not highlighted much, but is something I see elite ball strikers do and most poor hitters do not do. “Going back down the slope” we call it. Simple little move, but make sure you lower the arms as you do it.

Ok, I’m saying it, this is THE best golf swing in the world in my opinion. A technical tour de force. Great geometry, blended with gorgeous rhythm, utilising physics to create huge speed. Total respect to the hours and hours and hours that’s gone into creating it. Helps he moves like a thoroughbred racehorse too. We’ve all flubbed a chip, especially out of the rough. Look closely at the error here which caused the crumpled finish and poor contact. The body (engine) stopped rotating, so the handle created too much shaft lean making front edge “stick” in the rough. The clubface was too square all along which added to the issues. Keys out of the rough are, 1. open the clubface, 2. keep the ribcage rotating and 3. allow a hint of trail hand release to encourage the club to “skid”. Lean the shaft and stop the body, the front edge will stick and club will bottom out too early 🤷♂️🤦🏻♂️. #golf #golfing #golfer #golfswing #golftips #golfr #golfcoach #golflife #golfaddict #golfstagram (vid NUCLR GOLF)

Real world coaching here…..I figured many people work at their game on driving ranges with no special training aids at hand. So I’ve filmed ten ways a ball basket and an alignment stick can sort most issues in your swing 👌🏼⛳️🔥🫶🏻 Here’s the first one…..compressing an iron by creating a “left path” or “going around the corner”. Good to stop shanks and hooks too. Make sure you shallow things before going left thru impact ⛳️👌🏼🔥#golf #golfing #golfer #golfswing #golftips #golfr #golfcoach #golflife #golfaddict #golfstagram

Some people make the complexed so simple, my mate @robertrockgolf is such a person. Gorgeous geometry, no frills or contrived moves. As simple as it comes. Slowed it down so you can study each aspect for yourselves. Many hours gone into that purity. #respect (vid @lkd_golf)
