the portal 2 beta shit is insanely cool

me after episode 8 of #TADC

the speed keyboard escape guys gave me this at RDC and I Cannot Stop Stimming From It

TIL you can crash Portal by shooting a portal at the corpse of GLaDOS

prototype build of Left 4 Dead 2 got leaked too. the placeholder jockey model is really god damn funny

Now that I have a fully functioning implementation of Roblox's FACS controls in Luau, I can finally do 400% facial expressions. I am unstoppable.

ported my game's state over to attributes, moved that logic into BindToSimulation, turned on server authority AAAAAND... well shit.

HOLY SHIT THAT DRIVING CLIP FOR GTA 6 IS INSANE

I want to get The Stalker 2 made faster, but I know I need more hands on the project if I want that to happen. Trouble is that I'm not much of a project director. I always like doing things in the trenches getting marching orders from above, rather than giving the orders myself.

someone told me it was too flashy. is this worse?

Since Roblox's Emote UGC validation is very vague about the requirements for emotes to pass, I looked into the actual validation code and created a test dummy suite that visually identifies and logs what its actually rejecting. #RobloxUGC #RobloxDev

the stalker 2 is playable now, but still extremely early

Me walking past my local AI data center trying to get to my office.

this is my ai video.

animation pack idea i had soon tm hopefully lol

an epic update on the stalker 2 (ft Printzo 💙)

Fun fact: There are still a few features in Roblox's ParticleEmitter system which aren't developer facing. Notably: - Non-uniform perspective scaling. - Color textures for defining particle color variation. - Alpha textures for providing precision beyond just an envelope.

Making the most of glass in the meantime 😈 #RobloxDev

ugc emote idea: literally everything in this music video

Bro This Modding Shit Is Getting Crazy Someone Put Half-Life 2 Into Portal

Portal 2's paint gun is working in the leaked 2010 build. Here's a functional restoration of it! #Portal2

Major improvements to the decal projector! Should be significantly more reliable on meshes, morphing actually works on primitive shapes properly now, better wrapping around sharp corners, performance improvements, etc.

It was David. He made the default face. The image was created on October 4th, 2005 at 11:11 AM PST using Paint .NET You can reproduce almost exactly how it was made in less than 30 seconds:

I have a private toolchain that lets me load Roblox's dynamic heads into Blender, and yeah... they definitely used the Avatar Setup tool for a lot of these. The weight-painting and joint names seem very... automated.

when roblox says they are pushing for realism and R15, this is what they are talking about btw

This is the plugin I've been working on btw. It's a mesh editor! It's still very early in development.

The extents people have pushed that port I did of mario's sm64 physics to Roblox has reached heights I never could have dreamed of. I'm honestly super happy about it.

roblox investors looking through the dynamic head catalog and seeing that 99% of the heads aren’t “expressive” enough.

The reason Roblox characters have the face they do is because the procedural head mesh capsule Roblox generated at the time had squashed UV mapping, which vertically stretched the face texture.

I got my decal projector plugin up and running in a state that I'm happy enough to release early. Will improve performance and make it less buggy soon! pls help me sustain what im doing

this is definitely the aesthetic I’m going for w/ The Stalker :P

Grinded Claude for like 4 hours trying to fix some of Half-Life 2's E3 2003 demo files. I've been able to mostly fix two of them so far (e.g. getting them to playback in the leaknet build of Half-Life 2 without any hacks or code changes)

KNIFE FIGHT: A boomer shooter arena game I worked on during 2024 which has sat at 0 players for over a year. I fixed a lot of performance issues, made a lot of the abilities free, and reduced the unlock cost for the special abilities. Have fun! #Roblox

Nevermind I found it. Holy shit its real. Roblox actually pulled off perfect occlusion culling.

Messing around with the new UIGradient features and holy cow they are cool. I'll be able to pull off some sick visual effects with these.

This is a real video I made when I was 11 for Christmas 2009. My sense of humor was lightyears ahead of the curve.

I wanted to look into this more so I ripped the raw head geometry from a 2008 build of Roblox using data I pulled from RTX Remix and inspected. The end result? An attempt was made. There's an alternate universe where Roblox faces have big chins.
