The EU Migration Pact is comprised of several different pieces of legislation on which the European Parliament voted separately. Lumping them all together into one vote, which will remove the opt-out that Irish people voted for in the Lisbon Treaty, is profoundly undemocratic.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is illegal and immoral and must be condemned. But a €140bn EU “loan” tied to future Russian reparations is really on EU taxpayers — ~€4bn from Ireland — and unlikely to be repaid. After nearly 4 years, we need peace negotiations and the EU should support them.
