Aaron Del Mar: “They said we're going to build a tollway and once it's built, we're not going to tax anymore. They said the lottery is then going to pay for education, and where did that go? Then they said, we're going to put slot machines in every breakfast joint, every bar in Illinois, and that's going to pay for education. Then we're going to legalize marijuana and it's going to pay for mental health. Earlier today, Mayor Brandon Johnson sided with his ego and refused to sign Chicago’s $16.6 BILLION budget after his corporate head tax didn’t make the cut—and somehow that’s President Trump’s fault. Instead of accepting City Council’s decision, he pivoted to executive orders in an attempt to reinsert himself into the spotlight. Remember how Illinois Tollway Board back in June was asking for $26.5 billion from Illinoisans that would entail a 57% rate hike by 2027? In the meantime, they've been caught overcharging more than 200,000 people. According to documents obtained through a FOIA request by CBS, the switch to sticker tags resulted in a system glitch and instead of the Tollway fixing it they overcharged drivers instead. Welcome to JB Pritzker’s Illinois—where the appointed Tollway Board wants $26.5 billion and can’t even accurately run a billing system.

Earlier this week there was major controversy over an 800-acre data center project in Joliet, Illinois—the City Council has approved it. It will sit on an already dried-up aquifer that Joliet plans to replace with water from Lake Michigan—all while consuming 1.8 gigawatts of electricity, enough to power Chicago. The self-proclaimed Democrat environmentalists claim to protect the middle and lower class from rising utility costs—yet projects like this keep happening. 😵💫

Just days after the new NITA tax took effect in select Illinois counties, Governor JB Pritzker decided to distract from it by holding a press conference for a temporary tax holiday—here’s why this isn’t relief for Illinoisans. The permanent 0.25% NITA sales tax increase that took effect on August 1 is projected to generate $478 million annually, per RTA (NITA). As for the 10-day sales tax holiday, Illinoisans will save $50 million based on the Governor’s prior figures. Another day, another Democrat gaslighting.
