I found an old screen recording from my iPhone 11 Pro Max with iOS 17 Decided to compare the animations to my iPhone 17 with iOS 27, and I have so many thoughts 😭 Overall, iOS 17 is INFINITELY smoother than iOS 27, purely due to its animation speed. Opening and closing apps is slow and elegant, accompanied by a beautiful wallpaper zoom. 27 is rough, fast, and lacks fluidity. For some reason, they got rid of the wallpaper zoom when opening/closing apps, making everything feel flat. All of that is paired with the atrocious performance of the iOS screen recorder that started with iOS 18 and still hasn’t been fixed. Notice how there are zero jitters on iOS 17, but both jitters and artifact on 27. This is not a hate post. I just wanted to share my thoughts. And no, this isn’t the problem of a “beta”. Stable iOS 26 has the exact same issues. Thanks 💔

While PixelUI is literally the smoothest and the best animated UI I've personally ever used, it has the weirdest bug ever? 😭 And yes, that's right. Only ONE bug that I've faced so far. But it's a huge one. Navigation gestures have been set as default on Pixels for years now, and I personally thought Google had completely perfected them (if they are so confident in them). But apparently not. It's not even a consistent bug. Sometimes it's there, and sometimes it just disappears entirely on its own. When you open an app and then immediately close it, the animation can break ENTIRELY. And this started happening with Android 17 on my 10a. Android 16 was perfect. It just looks so bad, and I'm not even sure how or why it happens. It's very random. Personally, I'm fine dealing with linear and non-parallel animations which PixelUI still uses (meaning that animations can't be interrupted while in progress), but this is just unacceptable imo... I often open apps accidentally, so I immediately close them and almost every single time I face this thing. Please Google, your UI already is almost entirely bug-free (wink wink iOS). How could you let this slide 💔💔

Updated to iOS 27 Dev Beta 8 The beta is coming to an end, but most visual bugs haven’t been fixed. However, the increase in overall smoothness of the system is CRAZY imo. iOS truly feels fluid now. Though, still with lots of visual imperfections

with iOS 26, Apple really went to a whole new level of bugs like, I genuinely don’t understand how it’s even possible to make an animation bug out like this

Waitttt so there’s a new thing about the Dynamic Island in iOS 27 Now it’s fully functional and visible in landscape mode at all times!

I know that it’s a stupid comparison, but I just wanted to show how speeding up iOS 26 animations affected smoothness. Elegance is GONE. Beauty is GONE. Even One UI 8 feels nicer.

The Notification Center is by far the most neglected part of iOS, from iOS 16 all the way through iOS 27 - animations are lowkey broken - messy and disorganized - very buggy Apple better rebuild it from the ground up… it’s uncomfortable to interact with

If Apple had used basic blur instead of Liquid Glass in iOS 26, the “wow” effect would honestly be COMPLETELY gone

Apple Podcasts don’t get enough attention 💀 - an almost identical UI to Apple Music (equally high quality) - LOTS of topics (Tech, sports, politics, business, etc) - transcripts that follow the conversation - sleep timer - NO ADS - you can download any podcast - and it’s FREE

Fun fact: Apple’s iOS 26 wasn’t the first to implement light refraction into the system OPPO did it 8 months earlier with ColorOS 15, lol 😏
