I want to hire one of those body language analysis people to study Fallon in this whole appearance. All I get from Fallon here is seeping contempt. He just talks over these guys and ignores them constantly. It’s even funnier because you can tell The Roots like them more.

This is what I was thinking about when I called Weapons one of the most important horror films of the decade.

I’ve been watching The Report of the Week for years at this point. He’s my absolute favourite random rabbit hole to keep up with. He got the wrong order, (it happens), and his lips are pursed like he’s going to lose it. You can’t find this kind of entertainment anywhere else.

War of the Worlds (2025) is the worst adaption of the source material to date. It had no ideas beyond the found footage approach, and even then the film is struggling to find ways to present coherent scenes. Ice Cube is so lost. Maybe one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen.

I think you can find moments of brilliance in films that aren’t aiming to be more than what they are. This clip from Napoleon Dynamite lives in my mind rent free. There’s something deeply sad about how the stilted nature of this film plays in this moment. Kind of perfect tbh.

Seth MacFarlane hosting the Oscars was a rough mixed bag, but hands down this joke right here is the best I’ve seen from this ceremony in a decade. This is the kind of humour we need more of at the Oscars. Deep cut references to all-time classics. This is way better than montages

Have you ever wondered to yourself, “is there a street racing film in the style of an early Michael Mann movie made in Japan?” Well, look no further. Toho’s Hairpin Circus (1972) features dizzying car chases, moody tension, and a killer Jazz score by Masaaki Kikuchi.

Some of you goofy mother fuckers still think Cillian Murphy is winning that Oscar.

Val Kilmer will always be remembered as one of the great actors of his generation. Heat, Top Gun, and Tombstone solidified this. One of my great regrets was never making it out to Citizen Twain, his one man show where he played Mark Twain. Kilmer was a one of a kind mega-talent.

One of the best Shudder releases to date and it’s not even a horror film, Reflection in a Dead Diamond is for those purely chasing vibes. Style acting as dream logic and substance. The most Italian French film possible. The perfect marriage of Italian 60s spy thrillers and Giallo

The Studio is not a prestige tv series but instead a sketch comedy show, which is why Ike Barinholtz runs away with every scene he’s in. When it skirts insider baseball for slapstick comedy, I find it charming. Also, Chase Sui Wonders is killing it. I wish the show was about her.
