Nearly a dozen executives have left OpenAI in the past few months alone: "Considering the company keeps delaying its IPO and the fact that it is losing tens of billions of dollars, you have to wonder if they are simply losing faith in the company. This week, OpenAI's COO left the company after eight years. But one day before his departure, OpenAI's head of ethics also left. Before that, the head of safety systems left. Also the chief futurist. Also the head of Sora. Also the head of robotics."

"This scent chills down my spine. I had real deja vu of 99 again because this whole thing's crumbling. All of the demand that trickles down to the trillions of dollars of CapEx and infrastructure is now basically down to demand being created by two players Anthropic and OpenAI but Meta have basically said: "oh we overestimated the front-end demand we could create so we're going to lease out our infrastructure" They're basically getting out early of these capex wars."

"This is very bad for the AI bubble" with Ed Zitron. Ed Elson: "Meta is reportedly planning a cloud business to sell its excess AI capacity. The company has poured billions into its AI infrastructure, and until now, Meta has maintained that all of those investments and the resulting compute capacity would be used for internal purposes. But clearly now, something has changed."
