Today, in line with the second pillar of the More Agenda, which is Opportunities for All, I presented 60- 2025 model of Toyota Landcruiser Prado Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and 5 Toyota Landcruiser SUV to our revered traditional rulers at Government House, Asaba. The gesture is to enable them carry out their functions with greater ease and convenience, bearing in mind that most of them operate in very rural and rugged terrain. It is also a demonstration of appreciation by our administration for their role in ensuring peace and stability in their kingdoms and by extension the state and the country. As a government, we are pleased with the support and cooperation of the traditional rulers in Delta State, reason being that, the peace we largely enjoy in this state is because of their cooperation and collaboration with the government and security agencies. At the ceremony, I thanked the Royal Fathers for their continuous prayers and support.

Today, the joy and excitement on display spoke volumes as I commissioned two strategic projects in Oshimili South LGA. The 4.8 km Oko–Amakon/Oko–Obiokpu and adjoining roads (Phase 1) and the 1.8 km Ameachi Agusi and adjoining roads in Asaba. The just commissioned Oko Phase 1 will improve connectivity within the area and provide easier access for farmers to markets. It will also enable quicker emergency response to security issues and enhance access to the Second Niger Bridge corridor. The Ameachi Agusi and adjoining roads in Asaba are a clear testament to our urban renewal initiative, and I am pleased with the quality of work delivered by the contractors. I also informed my audience that the Oko Phase II Road Project has been awarded with a completion timeline of 24 months.

Today, I felt highly honoured as I was hosted at a grand reception ceremony by the Ijaw National Congress (INC) Worldwide, in conjunction with Delta State Ijaw political leaders (elected and appointed), in Bomadi. For me, this is the highest level of regard and appreciation anyone can receive from an ethnic nationality. Today, I am an Ijaw man. It was a moment of joy when I was honoured with the Izon Ebidowei Award of Delta State by Delta Ijaw traditional rulers. At the event, I re-emphasised my administration’s determination to change the development narrative in our riverine communities. I also used the opportunity to thank my brother Governor, H.E. Senator Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, who attended the ceremony, my leaders, stakeholders, youths, and women who came out en masse to show solidarity. To the Ijaw nation, I truly cherish this historic occasion and show of love.

Today marked another milestone in our administration as I performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a flyover at Otovwodo Junction in Ughelli North LGA. Otovwodo Junction is a vital link to Warri, Asaba and Patani on the East–West Road Highway, making it one of the busiest roads in this axis. When completed, this project being handled by Julius Berger at a cost of ₦39.34 billion, is expected to ease vehicular movement and boost trade and commerce, with a completion period of 12 months. At the ceremony, I noted that this government is redefining the social contract with our people through compassion, conviction and a culture of accountability in infrastructure delivery. I also appealed to road users to be patient and to obey traffic controllers during this period to avoid unnecessary gridlock. I thanked the people of Ughelli Kingdom for their warm reception.
