India has some of the most polluted air in the world. According to IQAir, 29 of the world’s 50 cities with the worst air pollution are in India. But India's factories are so, so much worse. Delhi's PM2.5 on a bad day: ~1,000 A poorly-optimised Indian steel factory's PM2.5 on an average day: ~100,000 These factories have hundreds of kilos of dust floating through their shop floor at any given moment. That's why Mumbai-based Praan (Praan Inc) is more than just an air purification company. They're a revenue reclamation company too. Through their patent-pending filterless technology, Praan is able to capture and store particles in a collection chamber without changing their chemical composition. This enables their customers to reuse dust as raw material. We visited Praan's Mumbai production facility to see how Angad Daryani and team are building world-class air purification systems from Mumbai, for India and the world.

This is India's most advanced electric tactical vehicle, VEER. The company behind it, Pravaig Dynamics (Pravaig Dynamics), has come a long way. They began R&D in 2011 and rose to prominence in 2020 when they unveiled a concept car, Extinction MK1. Today, six years later, the company's order book is extensive. Defence customers are very keen to add Pravaig's indigenously developed and manufactured flagship EV to their fleets. The Pravaig VEER features: - Infrared driving lights with thermal imaging - 95.6 kWh in-house-manufactured battery - A flex-fuel generator for hybrid driving - Low acoustic and thermal signature - Detachable doors and windscreens - 600 mm water-wading capacity - 260 mm ground clearance - Regenerative braking - 120 km/h top speed - 0–100 km/h in 6.1s - 500+ km of range - 620 Nm of torque - Stealth mode - Airlift hooks We visited Pravaig's manufacturing facility in Bengaluru to test the VEER out and see how they're building it right here in India.

Many people mistakenly believe that ideaForge (ideaForge Technology Limited) began their journey with quadcopter drones. They didn't. RuntimeBRT recently took a tour of ideaForge's facilities in Mumbai. During this visit Ankit Mehta revealed that ideaForge's first project was a hovercraft. In 2004, while studying at the IIT Bombay, Rahul Singh came up with the idea to build a hovercraft to navigate Powai Lake. That ambition is what brought him together with his co-founders, Ankit Mehta and Ashish Bhat, later joined by Vipul Joshi in 2008. They would eventually pivot toward building the UAVs that the company is known for today. These drones have enabled the company to become India’s largest pure-play UAV manufacturer by market share, with ~50% in the domestic drone segment. One ideaForge drone takes off every two minutes. More than two decades after the hovercraft, ideaForge continues their culture of innovation with something new: ZOLT, a multi-role tactical UAV platform designed to operate in contested combat environments. This UAV also introduces a hybrid propulsion system to enable longer-endurance missions, expanding ideaForge’s capabilities alongside its electric UAV portfolio. In this tour, Ankit Mehta (Ankit Mehta) shows us ZOLT, ideaForge's SWITCH UAV manufacturing facility, and everything else the company is working on. Enjoy!

This is India's most advanced wheeled quadruped. The Dhav-Hy quadruped by xTerra Robotics (xTerra Robotics) navigates obstacles like stairs, ramps and uneven terrain with ease using robust locomotion policies. And it doesn't even use vision. There are no cameras on this robot. You can kick it, stand on it or push it around and it's able to stay upright without falling. Once xTerra incorporates their vision stack, Dhav will become even more capable. Dhav-Hy, which weighs 23 kilograms, can: - Climb steps up to 35 cm - Traverse slopes of 45 degrees - Use 80 Nm of peak joint torque - Move at a top speed of 5 m/s (18 km/h) - Carry a 10+ kg payload across all terrains xTerra Robotics invited RuntimeBRT to visit their facility in Bengaluru to put Dhav and Dhav-Hy to the test. Here's what happened.
