“Modi Ji, aap hi se toh hamara parivaar hai…” A Letter from a Punekar. An Emotion Shared by Millions... I am sharing a deeply heartfelt letter written by Smt. Shobhana Apte Ji, a senior citizen from my Ch. Shivajinagar constituency, to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. Her words express immense pride in Modi Ji’s leadership, his years of service to Bharat, and the transformation our country continues to witness under his leadership. But there is also pain in her words. She writes about how deeply hurt she felt hearing the disrespectful remarks made about Modi Ji and his late mother. For her, such words were not merely an attack on a political leader they crossed a line of basic human dignity and respect that we, as Indians, have always associated with a mother. And yet, what touched her equally was Modi Ji’s grace, restraint and large-heartedness in choosing to forgive. One line from her letter stayed with me: “Modi Ji, aap hi se toh hamara parivaar hai…” There is something very powerful in those simple words. They reflect the affection and personal bond that millions of Indians have developed with our Prime Minister a relationship that goes beyond politics and is built on trust, respect and a shared love for our nation. As her elected representative, I am forwarding her letter to the Prime Minister’s Office. But I also wanted to share it here, knowing that these words will resonate with all Indians who love, respect and stand with our Hon’ble Prime Minister. Point of Information: Cleanliness of Hills (Tekdis) in #Pune Today, in the Vidhan Sabha, I highlighted the pressing issue of the worsening state of cleanliness of Pune's scenic hills. #Pune, renowned as the "City of Hills" is home to iconic tekdis such as Vetal Tedki, Taljai, Mhatoba, Parvati Hill, and an array of 35 hills adorning its landscape. Unfortunately, the cleanliness on our hills has deteriorated significantly. Disturbingly, miscreants are now using them as dumping grounds for both domestic garbage and construction waste. Sandalwood trees are being cut on Vetal Tekdi. Regrettably, the Forest Department has not been vigilant about these issues. Though various volunteer groups are engaged in cleanliness drives on the hills, miscreants continue to defy these efforts, clandestinely disposing of waste under the cover of night. Prompt and stringent measures are imperative to tackle this issue head-on. Immediate legal and penal actions need to be taken against those responsible for these crimes. Five New Cyber Police Stations for Pune With cybercrime steadily rising in the city, I reiterated my earlier demand from the previous session to establish five new cyber police stations in Pune. I urged the Home Department to expedite action on this proposal. Expanded CCTV Network and Advanced Technology I also called for the immediate rollout of 10,000 new CCTV cameras across Pune and urged the Government to announce the state’s comprehensive CCTV policy at the earliest. Additionally, I proposed integrating criminal databases with CCTV networks through face recognition technology, enabling real-time alerts to cyber cells when suspects are detected and significantly improving crime prevention and investigation. Upgrading the Aundh Veterinary Hospital Currently, the Aundh Veterinary Hospital provides only OPD services. I requested the Animal Husbandry Department to expedite the tender process for establishing a multispeciality veterinary treatment centre with modern facilities, and to fill vacant posts at the hospital at the earliest. In the ongoing winter session of the Vidhan Sabha, I raised the "Point of Information" and demanded construction regulations (SOP) for Pune City. Pune is expanding rapidly, and construction activities are booming at an unprecedented rate throughout the city. Construction work, especially during nighttime, has become a pressing concern for local residents, senior citizens, and children. It was brought to my notice that #Pune Municipal Corporation has not established specific regulations regarding permissible hours for construction work, despite directives from the Supreme Court.
