Abusive language used by DMK leaders has been made a central election plank by CM Joseph Vijay for the Maduranthakam and Dharapuram bypolls. There are many DMK leaders with foul mouths, but MK Stalin has behaved like a statesman during his Chief Minister tenure. Unlike MGR or Jayalalithaa, CM Vijay has no reasons for personal enmity with DMK; in fact he's been a friend of Udhayanidhi Stalin. The young TVK government has some lethargy in the bureaucratic machinery, which is visible in Chennai's monsoon preparedness works. Usually the MAWS minister would have carried out a few review meetings at Ripon buildings itself but this time it hasn't happened. Chief Minister Vijay is the MAWS minister; if not him, some other ministers can be deputed. Has DMK abandoned controversial ex-minister V Senthil Balaji? When the DVAC raided ex-minister EV Velu, party chief MK Stalin issued a statement within 2 hours. But when DVAC raided Senthil Balaji, neither Stalin nor Udhayanidhi or Kanimozhi issued any statement. The DMK's official condemnation post on Twitter did not have the words Senthil or Balaji.
