Hard to believe it’s been 59 years since The Monkees first aired on September 12, 1966. We were just four kids with guitars and energy, and the world watched us. Grateful for the memories and your support in keeping our spirit alive. Here’s to more! #TheMonkees #TVHistory

I’m very proud to share my new single, “Terri,” written by the wonderful Paul Westerberg of The Replacements. It’s a beautiful song, and I’m grateful Paul trusted me with it. I had a great time bringing it to life and adding my own little twist along the way. “Terri” is the first single from my upcoming EP, TIMELESS, arriving September 4. TIMELESS features six new tracks from songwriters like Andy Partridge, Sam Hollander, Adam Schlesinger, Vicki Peterson, Shelby Lynne and more. Hard to believe it's been nearly 60 years, but in December 1966, “I’m a Believer” hit #1. I sang it, written by Neil Diamond, and it changed everything for us. Excited for the upcoming tour - Micky Dolenz: 60 Years of The Monkees. Those first organ notes still hit!

Can you believe “Last Train to Clarksville” debuted this month in 1966? I sang lead, and by November it hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It’s amazing how that song launched our career while subtly commenting on the Vietnam War - an effective protest song. #mickydolenz #themonkees

Apparently they’re letting me back onstage again, which either means the shows are going well or no one has figured out how to stop me. I’ve got more MICKY DOLENZ CELEBRATES 60 YEARS OF THE MONKEES shows coming up, including stops in Orlando & Clearwater FL, Atlanta, Kettering & Lakeside in Ohio, Napa, Los Angeles, Myrtle Beach, Atlantic City, heck, even Shipshewana! Yes, it’s really me - and I’m just fine! 😎 There are fake AI stories about me online. If you see one, report it to Meta. I’ve been enjoying summer by the pool and getting ready for my Songs & Stories tour next month. Don’t believe the clickbait; trust the guy with the toolbox!

Here’s a little Circus Boy clip that makes me laugh for reasons that probably weren’t obvious at the time. Let’s just say young Micky had a few things to learn about drums. Sometimes life slips in a joke before you’re in on it. #CircusBoy #MickyDolenz #TheMonkees

In October 1967, More of the Monkees was released, taking over the No. 1 spot on Billboard for 18 weeks and holding top charts for a total of 31 weeks between albums. It also reached No. 1 in the UK and sold over five million copies in the U.S., becoming the year's best-seller.

Still thinking about Bobby Hart. He and Tommy created classics like "(I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone," which rocked on stage. Released in November 1966 as a B-side to “I’m a Believer,” it hit #20 on the Billboard Hot 100—the first Monkees B-side to chart. #TheMonkees #MickyDolenz

"Daily Nightly," one of the first pop songs to use a Moog synthesizer, was written by Michael Nesmith for our 1967 album. I programmed UFO sounds with Paul Beaver's help. John Lennon later experimented with those sounds at my house during the '60s. #TheMonkees #MickyDolenz
