In Poland there is a long-standing tradition of providing Polish voice-over for foreign movies by a lektor. Poles have got used to it and generally prefer a male voice reading a movie over subtitles or dubbing. Why are male voices so important in voice-over for movies? There is a common belief in the voice-over industry in Poland that women's voices can be too emotional for this job, leading them to start acting instead of just reading a dialogue list. A good movie lektor should not overact or drown out the actors in movies. On the other hand, he shouldn't be too monotone and should not read every movie genre the same way. Moreover the original dialogues are never completely muted, so you can still hear the actors' original voices. Here's Tango & Cash read by one of the most popular Polish lektors, Maciej Gudowski, and this is how most Poles watch movies every day:

Poland will always be grateful to Iran for hosting Polish refugees during World War II ❤️ In 1942, over 116,000 Polish citizens arrived on the Iranian shores of the Caspian Sea. This massive exodus included the soldiers of General Władysław Anders' Army, as well as tens of thousands of civilians. Among them were thousands of orphaned children who had just survived starvation, disease, and the brutal conditions of Soviet labor camps in Siberia and Central Asia. Despite facing their own severe wartime hardships, economic struggles, and food shortages due to the Anglo-Soviet occupation, the Iranian people and government welcomed the refugees with extraordinary generosity.
