Check this out!!! These birds are not starlings. They are jackdaws!!! Just filmed, mouth open, delighted. They’re now in their cedar roost on the seafront, chattering away and I’m standing underneath them in awe. HOW COOL ARE THEY!!?! Grins!!

Never thought I’d be a page 3 girl but yesterday I was in The Sun (and the day before I was talking on Radio 4’s Today Programme. So the full spectrum). #birds

One year ago today a swift I had raised for 17 days fledged from my bedroom window. Please do not try this at home. Birds are very hard to raise without killing accidentally and swifts are almost impossible and need specific specialist care. Here are some amazing facts about her.

Got stung by a wasp. Poured way more water over my head than I was expecting. But I did leave #water out for the #birds which was my whole plan. This is the UK’s 4th #heatwave so all wild lives need some watery help right now and so easy to do.

Why did I take a watering can to the field with me? And a cake tin? Because 70% of small bodies of natural water have vanished from the countryside since the 1970s so this small act can make a big difference. #water #heatwave #birds #drink #thirstvideo

This swift left its exact nesting site here in August flying to Africa, spending 9 months on the wing. Journeying 8,000 miles, crossing the Sahara twice, it’s returned to find it BLOCKED. Swifts face national Exstinction + this bird may die trying. The homeowner doesn’t care.

Clarion Housing destroyed an active swift colony by demolishing a building early, breaching the Wildlife and Countryside Act. Tell the Surrey Police crime commissioner to enforce the law 👉 It’s #worldswiftday but no one gives a monkeys.
