A few more tests in thread 🧵 Trying to make it as intuitive and fast as possible. Set direction and velocity with keyframes, interact with boundaries without extra layers, just use comp bounds optionally

A small sneak peek. I’ve been working on the new Motion Tools Pro update for After Effects for a long time, and we’re excited to release it soon. What do you think, does it look and feel better than before?

The reason I hate Wave Warp. The Pinning can be smoother using the Blur + Alpha adjustment, but this solution is not perfect. Does anyone know a better effect that works similarly?

btw it reminds me of a trick. I’m not sure if it’s well known, but if you properly set the First Vertex and animate the Trim Paths Offset, you can follow the shape’s form. It works best with characters that don’t have too many intersections

Actually Wave Warp can work here: * Pinning + extra shapes + (Blur + Alpha) → Better edges control * Layer Styles (Stroke + 0 Fill Opacity) → Non-deformed stroke without fill * Scale + CC Scale Wipe → Stretching * Add Amplitude to Essential Properties for better control

Quick test of CC Vector Blur for a magma-style effect. Works nicely with CC Particle World

Proof of concept. Now using Rive files as layers in After Effects🤔 is that already a crime or not yet?
