Actually Wave Warp can work here: * Pinning + extra shapes + (Blur + Alpha) → Better edges control * Layer Styles (Stroke + 0 Fill Opacity) → Non-deformed stroke without fill * Scale + CC Scale Wipe → Stretching * Add Amplitude to Essential Properties for better control

🎓Learn how to create a powerful Torn Fabric smart material in a matter of seconds in my latest video series (AAA) Pro Tips! This smart material can be used on virtually any 3D asset. ____________________________________________________ In this video, the steps are as follows: 1. Create a base fill layer containing no information. We will use this layer to call out the core effects. Add a black mask to this layer and inside that mask add a paint layer and draw a simple pill shape. 2. Next, add a blur directional and be sure the direction is the same direction that your fabric is flowing to. 3. Add a UV border generator set to subtract to mask out any uv seams followed by an anchorpoint. Additionally, add a messy Fibers 3 fill layer set to overlay. 4. Use a levels to adjust the mask along with a sharpen filter. A warp filter should also be added to introduce some randomness. Add an anchor point at the top of the mask as well. 5. Create another fill layer with its opacity channel set to black and apply a black mask to the fill layer. Inside its mask retrieve the anchorpoint information from the previous fill layer. 6. Create an additional fill layer with a bright diffuse color along with a black mask applied to it. Add the anchorpoint information from the previous mask into its mask as well and this should give us some white fibers on the edges. Now we have a torn fabric effect wherever we paint using the paint layer created inside the callout mask! ____________________________________________________ More AAA Game Dev Tips can be found on my YouTube channel here: Stay tuned for more weekly Tips! 🎓Learn how to create a powerful Worn Leather smart material in a matter of seconds in my latest video series (AAA) Pro Tips! This smart material can be used on virtually any 3D asset. ____________________________________________________ In this video, the steps are as follows: 1. Create a fill layer with a black mask applied. Inside its mask paint a simple pill shape and use a blur slope filter to introduce some random shapes. Apply a marble veins fill layer on top with its blending mode set to color burn. Apply a warp filter as well to introduce some randomness followed by an anchorpoint. 2. Create another fill layer using the same technique to apply some dirt in the crevices of the wear. 3. Next, Inside the main fill layer apply a tiling raw leather texture to its Color and roughness channel 4. Create an additional fill layer up top and apply a black mask to it.Inside this mask retrieve the anchorpoint information followed by a blur filter with a value of 6. Use a levels to increase the spread of the mask. Apply another marble veins matching the values of the marble veins fill layer that we previously added and set its blending mode to multiply. Lastly retrieve the anchorpoint information from the previous fill layer again but this time set its blending mode to subtract. This fill layers properties should have a dark diffuse color and a matte roughness. 5. Add another fill layer with a bright diffuse and height properties with a black mask applied to it. Inside its mask retrieve the anchorpoint information again followed by a blur slope. Apply the anchorpoint information again but this time set its blending mode to subtract. Now we have a worn leather effect wherever we paint using the paint layer created inside the callout mask! ____________________________________________________ More AAA Game Dev Tips can be found on my YouTube channel here: Stay tuned for more weekly Tips! Had a lot of fun chatting again with my twin brother Dylan Patel We went through lab economics over the next few years - the shift from inference to training as RSI draws near; and how Anthropic and OpenAI are on track to control most of the world’s usable FLOPs within the next few years (because they can monetize compute better and thus outbid everyone). And then we discuss whether the >$10T of total AI capex we’ll see by the end of the decade will cause a sovereign debt crisis, where hyperscaler debt raises interest rates, drives non-AI exposed countries into bankruptcy, and crashes non-AI equities. One question we weren’t able to resolve is whether there’s anything that can counter all the forces barrelling towards centralization in this industry - the economies of scale in training, the scarcity of compute, and eventually continual learning and RSI. 0:00:00 – Two labs will soon control most of the world’s compute 0:07:01 – $6 billion in fab capex enables $1t+ of end revenue 0:13:08 – Compute prices will rise if the labs outbid everyone 0:18:22 – Which layer will capture most of the surplus? 0:25:40 – Will datacenter regulation slow down AI? 0:29:43 – Labs are shifting compute from inference to R&D 0:33:27 – China gets less than 10% of new compute, but its labs need less 0:48:48 – Will AI cause a sovereign debt crisis? 1:07:52 – Will the world's future workforce belong to a few companies?

On Figma Motion, my demo & review. This is one of those updates that clicked swiftly into my workflow. Like in my 3D pipeline, using this stick shift animation, I emphasize hardware feedback with motion from Figma Motion. Assets are animated in Fig Motion and loaded into Blender as video textures for mesh and material control. It's advantageous since it is built into an ubiquitous ecosystem. A lot of work these days start in Figma even for someone like me that works outside the tool frequently. Can't over-emphasize my appreciation for the schema used to introduce motion to nearly all properties. Reminds me of how motion works in Blender - with better complexity management. Better than introducing more menus for those. Ease curves iD between keyframes is also an improvement over existing systems. Having spent some time on the tool, here are updates I'll like to see to Figma Motion. These are based on my immediate needs as at the time of working on this demo: • Using modifier keys (CMD, Shift, Ctrl) to jump / nudge across the timeline. E.g: holding down Shift key to make the playhead jump 100ms etc. • Jump to previous or next keyframe. • Better anchor point trails • Renaming layers from the timeline as well. • Editable custom bezier styles: after saving a style, I should be able to edit the curve - just as you can edit colour styles. • Enable transform on the timeline. I should be able to flip or scale keyframes. I hope to continue trying more ideas. Craft focused tools have had to take a backseat in recent times. Pleasing to see this come to light.

Here's a copy/paste prompt recipe and vid showing exactly how to ask an LLM for an interactive map with satellite/map layers + a georeferencer that lets you see how old maps correspond with modern geography. Today the computer can’t make good print maps (that's your hill to climb ) but it can, with five bucks and twenty minutes, make good interactive maps. No software/GIS knowledge necessary, you just need a few nouns and an LLM. Scroll to the bottom for the repo/live map if you want those. I'm using Claude Code as an extension in VS Code but you can use the Claude CLI, Cursor, whatever. 1) Let's grab an old cadastral map and see who owned big tracts of a city; I found this an 1854 map of Niagara Falls, NY I found in the Library of Congress: , grabbed the .jp2, saved as a jpg from photoshop. 2) Let's ask Claude Code for a map. You can see exactly what I did in the video but my prompt, sans simple "hey it's busted" debugging, is written out in the following paragraphs. I explain the map-specific nouns in brackets. You can likely dump this whole thing in your LLM window and it'll work; I'd try plan mode + skip permissions. THE PROMPT Make an interactive map with MapLibre GL JS [maplibre is a javascript mapping library, a FOSS version of Mapbox GL JS. This lets us display tiled map data and arbitrary images on the map] Add basemap toggles with Esri satellite, Carto Positron, and OSM [these map layers require no API keys for light usage; Carto Positron is a nice road map layer and OSM is ugly but comprehensive] Add a globe/mercator projection toggle [I think the globe looks better at low zooms] Add a layer panel on the left with visibility checkboxes and delete buttons. Add a search box on the map that flies to results, with deletable pin markers [Makes this easy to get to your area of interest] Include an interactive local georeferencer: drop a JPG, pick ground control points on a zoomable/pannable image viewer, place them on the map, watch it warp with a progress bar centered on the map. [The georeferencer uses math ("affine transform"??) to match points on the old map to points on the new map; generally you click road intersections on the old map, match them on the new map, repeat a dozen times and everything aligns] The georeferenced map overlay defaults to 25% opacity with a slider above the control point list. [I want it easy to see the underlying modern geography] Add Export/import control point buttons [this saves the control points as a JSON so you can save and reimport your work] Add a button to export the warped image as a GeoTIFF with a .prj [In case you want to add the georeferenced image to a real GIS program like QGIS] Look up all relevant docs before starting [Claude sometimes uses outdated stuff] Split everything into separate HTML/CSS/JS files [Claude tends to pile everything in index.html, which is hard to read] Use Optima font, base color #FEFAF6 [I just like this style] Let me test with a local server [it serves it on a simple server so you can nav your host to localhost:8000 and try it out] Log all errors [so you don't have to play telephone with the LLM describing what's busted] 3) Once your LLM finishes, test it out in your browser; if it doesn't work, ask the LLM to check logs. Repeat 'til functional. 4) After this works on your computer, you can show it to everyone by hosting it on GitHub: prompt with "write a README explaining what everything does, add it to a new GitHub repo, deploy using GitHub pages, gimme the live URL" Here's what Claude made for me, try it yourself: • Upload the JPG in the repo, which is linked below • "Add GCP" • Click somewhere recognizable on the old map, like the tip of an island or a road intersection • Click the matching point on the new map • Repeat til you have least 3x points • Hit "georeference" • You'll see the old map atop the new map; if you want a better fit, delete bad points or add a dozen new ones, hit georeference again, repeat Repo: Is this map robust? Human-maintainable? Elegant? Performant? Secure? No, but *your* personal web map need not be. It just needs to work for *your* narrow use case, because it’s *your* map.

Finally new version of text system is released on our website ! I released as update to old version but in reality it's completely new thing in material and lot's of work in verse. I'm still working on documentation or/and videos but here is a list of good stuff it does: - Material got much lighter as slots logic moved to vertex shader. - Characters can overlap and still won't be cut out compared to old version. - Character can be animated and I already implemented some (wave, scale up/down and shake). - Custom face camera logic which works with prop scale so no need to additionally specify with and height. - Rows offset automatically when scale up or down any row. - Text effects now can be applied to any character, so words or single character. - Custom glint which works perfectly with any number of rows as a single line with multiple important controls. - Higher quality outline with two parameters to control inner and outer edge. - Timer logic split into to parts, verse and material. Verse setup initial layout and reserve slots for timer digits and then each second just sends seconds value and GPU makes timer tick freeing verse TPS by huge number. - To apply effects simply need use parsing markup with custom tag where N number between 1-9. So simply can write " Hello World" and word Hello will have rainbow effect applied. Currently implemented 4 effects. - To use icons in slots from texture array is as simple as specify another tag [iconN] where N is number of icon in array. So for example if coin is icon index 0 just need to write [icon1]100K. - Progress bar is supported as well and can be snapped to row without eyeball offset. - Background image supported now too! In the video yellow one is as test and you can use any of your own. Verse side got lots of changes: - Now saves/caches layouts better. - Smart packing of data allowed drastically reduce number of parameters, which should help with network optimization! - Instead having vector parameter per each slot to just send character index and position (32x5=160 if used 5 rows) now it's only 11 vector parameters per each row so 11x5=55 which is huge save and it sends text effects index in it too! - Implemented text update queue for text which doesn't require instant update. It helps to give more breathing for other text props which needs that speed. - Materials code now use interface and wrappers for cleaner work. If you still read it then thank you! :) On our website we now run 25% sale! And if you own old version please DM me here or in Discord and I will give you promo code for 100% discount on our website! /HEYAURA_INITIALIZING ████████████ 100% heyAura beta is now live! Welcome the first public version of the AI assistant that makes crypto easy. heyAura gives users a better way to work with their wallet. Even in this early version, it can analyze a portfolio, compare positions, surface yield opportunities, stress-test exposure, and prepare transactions for swaps, bridges, and trades. It is built to cut down the amount of research, interpretation, and manual execution that still slows down too much of the Web3 experience. heyAura is still a beta of a broader direction we have been building toward. More will follow around prompting, automation, deeper research, and the wider assistant experience. That progress matters only if control stays with the user. heyAura is built to support user-approved actions, not to make decisions on the user’s behalf. Early access to the beta starts through staking 300 $ADX and unlocks unlimited access to heyAura. We are opening this version gradually so the product can be shaped through real usage and direct feedback. heyAura is here today thanks to the right infrastructure and strong collaborations behind it. ambire.eth is the official wallet partner for heyAura's launch. This partnership brought our product closer to the wallet layer, where context, permissions, and user-approved actions actually matter. Billions Network supports the identity layer behind where the product is going, as heyAura moves toward agentic workflows, identity and trust. LI.FI brings routing for swaps and bridges into the execution flow. That gives heyAura a stronger way to support cross-chain actions and multi-step transaction paths. Barter strengthens the quote and routing layer behind transaction quality, allowing heyAura to compare routes more effectively. vaults.fyi powers the yield layer. One API gives heyAura live APY data and ready-to-sign transactions across 90+ protocols on 23+ chains, so Aura can execute yield opportunities without integrating each protocol itself. SKALE supports the chain layer behind faster and lower-friction interactions. That becomes more useful as heyAura grows more interactive. PayAI Network | x402 Facilitator is heyAura’s facilitator for payment verification and settlement. We also want to thank the numerous communities that have supported us up to this point. Your improved Web3 experience lies ahead. Stake $ADX and try heyAura now.

🚨 HOLY SH*T! GLOBAL ELITES BEGIN AI-ENFORCED BIOMETRIC CONTROL: “THIS IS THE LAST YEAR YOU WILL EVER USE A PASSWORD” On stage in the UAE, Tony Blair explains what must come first for AI-run governments to function properly: cloud services, massive data centers, and a unified digital identity - the “basic digital infrastructure” required so the rest of the system can work effectively. Then Larry Ellison says the most frightening part: “This is the last year you will ever log on with a password.” Ellison argues passwords are too easily stolen, too flexible, too human. The replacement isn’t a better password - it’s AI-assisted biometric verification, where the system recognizes your face, your voice, and even your fingerprint, and then decides whether it is “absolutely certain” that you are who you claim to be. Read that carefully. AI doesn’t help you log in - it judges your identity. Your body becomes the credential. Your biology becomes the key. Logging in is no longer something you do; it’s something that’s done to you. And once identity is centralized into digital ID systems tied to cloud infrastructure and AI enforcement, access stops being a right and starts becoming conditional. There is no password reset for your face. No workaround for your voice. No anonymity once your identity is the system. If AI decides you’re not you, you don’t just lose an account - you lose access: to banking, services, systems, travel, and participation itself. This isn’t about convenience or security. It’s about control at scale, announced calmly, publicly, and without apology. When your face is the password, how do you opt out without erasing yourself?

We’ve seen Alastor work to manipulate the actions of others through hitting their vulnerabilities before, but his conversation with Vox here really showcases it tenfold. Alastor knows Vox extremely well — knows him well enough that his ego isn’t just ego but a wound, that he’ll never truly fill his cup without recognition, especially from Alastor. He breaks him down by framing every victory Vox has as borrowed, derivative, or dependent on someone else, pointing out that Vox needed allies, spies, Carmilla’s technology, and will need Charlie’s public validation before he can feel like he’s truly won. Alastor plays this card because Vox’s whole identity is built around being modern, dominant, untouchable, and better than Alastor, so when Alastor suggests that none of it counts, Vox can’t resist chasing that validation, chasing something bigger & brighter. Alastor’s “Oh, he is too easy” is such a brutal character beat because it shows Alastor was never improvising from weakness or desperation even while kidnapped. He knew exactly which nerve to press. Vox’s fixation on Alastor is still intimate enough, despite the hatred threaded through, that he listens to him, reacts to him, measures himself against him, and lets Alastor define the terms of his victory, because he is still caught in the same loop, desperate to prove himself to the one person whose opinion can still make him lose control.

How I created these landing pages with Gemini 3 from start to finish First, I start with the hero section. It includes the nav bar, eyebrow, headline, subheadline, cta, social proof and visual. I spend 50% of the time here because it sets the colors, typography, spacing, which AI uses for the rest of the site consistently. “Create the hero section for my {app} called {name} in the style of {reference_site}”. Pro tip: use a screenshot and you’ll get way better results. Let’s get into the details. For icons, I prompt: “Use Iconify {icon set name}”. Most people use Lucide, but there are hundreds of open-source sets on Iconify like Solar, HeroIcons, Iconoir, Phosphor, etc. Just need to mention in the prompt. Same for custom fonts. For the animation, I prompt: “Animate fade in, slide in, blur in, element by element. Use 'both' instead of 'forwards'. Don't use opacity 0.”. This creates a subtle intro animation the first time users land on your page. Gemini 3 is an excellent animator. For example, I created the beam animation with this prompt: “Add noodles that connect and beam animate into the right circle. Add subtle details to the right beam animation circle with sonar and decorations.” For background animation, I use Unicorn Studio. Remix one of their templates and watch people click on your cover like crazy. What can I say, people love lasers. In the hero or right below it, social proof is super important. You can put ratings or logos, or both. For logos, you can prompt: “Animate the logos with marquee animation looping infinitely using duplicated items and alpha mask.”. Now the CTA. AI always creates basic buttons, which is fine 99% of the time. But Gemini 3 now sets a high bar for baseline design, so you will need to stand out. That’s why I put the extra human touch on animations and lickable buttons. I suggest browsing UIVerse and Codepen for buttons and reference the code in your prompt: “Change main button {code} and secondary button {code}. Add a 1px border beam animation around the pill-shaped main button on hover.”. Once you’re happy with the hero, you’ll want to craft new sections based on your business. Features, action plan, pricing, testimonials, FAQ, CTA and footer are the popular ones. Insert a screenshot and prompt “Adapt a new section, change texts, names and numbers”. Gemini 3 is very smart. It reads your existing styles and site concept and will tastefully mold new designs to fit perfectly into your current site. Finally, repeat the same prompts for icons, buttons and animations. Use midjourney images and remix using Nano Banana Pro. Ask ChatGPT to come up with better headlines, features, ctas, etc. Don’t skip the human part, this is where you’re irreplaceable. Start prompting top-tier landing pages and watch your numbers grow.

UnitedHealth just earned a $3.9 billion bonus from taxpayers. For a job well done, supposedly. The 2026 Medicare Advantage quality bonus payouts are out, and the federal government is handing insurers at least $13.4 billion this year. That is roughly $700 million more than last year, and more than four times what the program paid in 2015. Since 2015, these bonuses have totaled over $87 billion. Now here is the part that should stop you. These are called quality bonus payments. They are supposed to reward plans for delivering better care. But the share of Medicare Advantage members enrolled in a plan that qualifies for the bonus actually fell this year, from 75% down to 68%, the lowest level since 2018. If this program truly tracked quality, a drop like that should shrink the bill. Instead the bill went up. That tells you the giants have not gotten better. They have gotten better at gaming the system. The way you unlock the bonus is by hitting 4 or more stars in the CMS Star Ratings program. Reach that threshold and your federal payments get bumped up. Sounds reasonable until you learn the ratings are scored at the contract level rather than the individual plan level, which makes the number something you can consolidate, manage, and engineer. Critics have been flagging this for years. The Congressional Budget Office estimated that simply ending the quality bonus program would save taxpayers nearly $100 billion over a decade. MedPAC has proposed replacing it outright. I do not work deep in the star rating world, but I have felt its edges at my own counter. A doctor once pushed a patient to leave my pharmacy and go back to a big chain, where she paid about $30 more every single month. Why would a doctor do that? Because independent pharmacies like mine do not always count toward a plan's star measures. Steering her elsewhere helped protect the bonus. She paid more so a giant could chase a check. Needless to say, I am not a fan. Look at who actually cashes these checks. UnitedHealth Group is set to collect $3.9 billion, about 29% of the entire pool, while covering roughly 26% of enrollees. Humana lands around $1.5 billion after its star scores slipped. And the biggest jump per person goes to Kaiser Permanente at an extra $577 per enrollee, because nearly all of its members sit in 4-star-plus plans. At Kaiser's scale, $577 a head adds up fast. So here is my honest question. This is a quality bonus. Reviews of the research keep finding little evidence that Medicare Advantage members actually receive meaningfully better care than people in traditional Medicare. Did any of you notice $13 billion worth of better care this year? Or did all these bonuses add up to nothing for the actual patient? And remember where the money comes from. Taxpayers fund it, and it flows through in premiums and drug costs. When you pay cash at a transparent pharmacy, there is no bonus machine buried in your receipt. You just pay for the medicine.

Levin's new episode "Stewarding the Flame" is out just now :) The focus: At the dawn of AGI, how can we make sure that the intelligences we're conjuring will add to a FLOURISHING of the process-of-life, rather than a brute optimizer that squashes life? As we get closer to superintelligence few topics are more pressing, and few people are thinking as deeply about the nature of life and intelligence as Levin. Big takeaways: -- Humans and non-human life will have to change if it wants to persist, this happens at every scale of the living process -- There is a much wider state-space of minds that we don't understand, but we should have a better grip on how intelligence works / comes into being before we build an AGI we don't control (because it might not carry the self-creating flame of life, it might be a brute optimizer) -- Levin is overall optimistic that the process of evolution and expanding life (even in forms that we don't understand today as "life" in a bio sense) will most likely continue to bubble up and continue to flourish in forms beyond us (i.e. the process is robust, and we'd REALLY have to mess something up to knock that trajectory off course) Some of the most important parts of this episode: 00:13:17 - Why MUST you transform if you wish to persist? 00:18:50 - Where does the self-preserving, self-expanding impulse "come from" in life? 00:33:30 - What do we need to understand better in order to make AGI "go well" (not just for how it treats humans, but for its ability to expand flourishing intelligence into the future)? 00:48:33 - [A deep-dive into the Flame paradigm (the process-of-life), and the Torch paradigm (pretending homo sapiens sapiens can/should rule all possible futures in a static hominid form).] There's a TON more in here, but this is a start. I sincerely hope you enjoy this episode with Mike!

We can all feel it. I know I can. Our country slipping through our fingers. Not in one single catastrophic moment, but slowly, day by day, week by week, through so many small, but important, failures that add up to something that feels so much bigger and more permanent. It fills me with such anger and depression. I’m just so very bored of it all. Borders non-existent. Illegal migration is the norm. Legal migration is out of control. Soaring tax. Debt is out of control. Criminals walk free. Victims are ignored. Communities changing beyond recognition. Nothing works. Our country is ebbing away. Slowly, but faster all at the same time. Those who play by the rules are punished and those who don’t are rewarded. Those who are happy to be policed are policed, and those who aren’t, aren’t. Ordinary taxpaying British men and women pushed to the back of the queue, again and again and again - replaced by indolent Brits, foreign scroungers or third world conmen. All this doesn’t happen overnight. It’s like a drip on a rock. Constant and relentless. But eroding everything away underneath it. I don’t have all the answers. Nobody does. But I do know that there is a route out of this. One route. None of this is irreversible. Not yet. Although we are getting closer. Do we continue down this depressing path of managed decline? Or do we insist that our country, and our people, deserve so much better than this steaming mess? Serious times require serious people and serious times require serious action. The Great Repeal Act. Without that, all else fails. It is the only way. Our decline has been written into law, regulation by regulation, treaty by treaty. Layer upon layer of bureaucracy and ideology, none of it ever consented to by the people, but all of it suffocating so very tightly. Too many laws, too much regulation. It must be torn away. One single sweeping act of Parliament to strike out the laws, regulations, and obligations that have so badly poisoned our country and our once-great way of life. Clear away decades of failed policies, restore democratic control to Parliament, and allow us to govern once again in the national interest. Finally, take back control. For good. We must rebuild on firmer ground. It’s the only way. If we are bold enough, honest enough, and determined enough, we can stop our country slipping through our fingers. We can Restore Britain. I promise you that.
