Hillary Clinton calls for criminal charges and civil penalties against Americans "engaged" in spreading "propaganda." To make her argument against free speechj, she invokes the Russiagate scam that itself was the product of her campaign's own propaganda. Speaking of which, the case that she invokes here -- Mueller charging some Russians for social media activity -- led to Mueller dropping the case after the Russian company showed up to fight the case in court.

Bill Clinton has repeatedly claimed that, under his watch, Palestinians turned down a “once in a lifetime peace opportunity” for their own state. A new book by Robert Malley, who served as a US peace negotiator under Clinton, adds to a long body of evidence showing this to be a lie.

Today's White House meltdown started when Zelensky confronted JD Vance for saying that the US will be "engaging in diplomacy" to end the Ukraine proxy war. Zelensky responded by arguing that Putin can't be trusted, and challenged Vance with a question: "What kind of diplomacy, J.D., you are speaking about?" If Zelensky wasn't such a devoted warmonger, he'd know that one of his negotiators, Ukrainian diplomat Oleksandr Chalyi, has already answered his question. At the Russia-Ukraine peace talks in Istanbul of March-April 2022, Chalyi later recalled, the two sides “managed to find a very real compromise” and “were very close.. to finalize the war with some peaceful settlement.” Putin, he said, “tried to do everything possible to conclude [an] agreement with Ukraine.” It was Zelensky that chose to walk away from that agreement, after the Biden admin and Boris Johnson urged him to. Zelensky knows that, so his question is just disingenuous.

After questioning Sen. Coons about his support for Israeli massacres in Gaza, I was asked to move to a different seat. I complied. About 30 mins later, he walked by me. We did not exchange words. At the next stop, in Philadelphia, I was removed from the train. I assume this was done at Sen. Coons’ behest.

In an interview on The Daily Show, Jake Sullivan claims that the US "didn't" military intervene in Syria. Jon Stewart reminds him that, in fact: "We did though in Syria, we just didn't talk about it." Jon invokes the fact that US arms went to al-Nusra -- the Al Qaeda front in Syria that now rules the country. He also tells a story of running into US operatives in neighboring Jordan, where the CIA trained insurgents and helped coordinate their offensives. In 2012, Jake Sullivan infamously wrote that "Al Qaeda is on our side in Syria." This is the first time I've ever seen him asked about that policy. A rare moment where a US official is challenged over the dirty war in Syria.

Reporting from the Oscars, Democracy Now! profiled the Oscar-winning documentary “Mr Nobody Against Putin.” It's about, in DN's words, "how ordinary Russians are indoctrinated with pro-war messages." One of the questions DN asks of the main Russian character is: "Why do you see Lady Gaga singing the U.S. national anthem as a form of resistance?" He responds by claiming that countries "unfriendly to Russia" have safer tap water. (?) For your consideration, perhaps this clip can go in a film about how ordinary American progressives are indoctrinated with pro-proxy war messages:

Last week, Secretary Antony Blinken boasted that "the Israelis have been not only allowing food in," but also "working to make sure it gets in and gets to people who need it." He then took credit for "doing everything possible to maximize" aid to Gaza. Today, he admits that "100% of the population in Gaza is at severe levels of acute food insecurity."

In this debate on Piers Morgan Uncensored, I remind two Israel apologists that their state's foundational commitment to regional supremacy is the impediment to peace. This is why even an Israeli Foreign Minister admitted that if he were Palestinian, he would have rejected Israel's so-called "generous" peace offer of July 2000.

When ever I hear Trump flaunt how much he does the bidding of the Israel First oligarchs who fund his campaign, I think of all the time and energy wasted by Democratic Party leaders and media stenographers on their pet conspiracy theory that Trump is secretly compromised/funded by the Kremlin and Russian oligarchs. Why did every Russiagate cult member chase that mythical "foreign influence" over Trump and ignore this real one?

Former top Biden official Brett McGurk says a US war on Iran is likely. He also endorses the Israel First position that any potential deal cannot just address Iran's nuclear program. McGurk argues that Iran must accept limits on its missile program because it launched an "unprovoked attack" on Israel in October 2024. He is omitting that Israel, while waging a genocidal attack on Gaza, assassinated Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. And this was after Israel previously launched an unprovoked attack on Iran's consulate in Damascus.

One overlooked Trump move that takes on new salience is his ouster this year of Gen. Charles Q. Brown, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In a rare Jan 2024 interview, Brown signaled that he sought to prevent war with Iran. Asked whether the US is "not being tough enough on Iran", Gen. Brown responded: "Do you want us in a full-scale war? ...We don’t want to go down a path of greater escalation that drives to a much broader conflict within the region." He also said later in the interview that Iran doesn't want war with the US. Did this factor in Trump's decision to fire him?
