People are overthinking the 32 BTC sale. “Why sell?” “Why not just buy less next week?” “Is this bearish?” Michael Michael Saylor already explained the logic: • If Bitcoin can’t be sold, critics say it has no value. • If it has no value, the balance sheet value is zero. • If the balance sheet value is zero, credit rating agencies ignore it. • So you sell a tiny appreciated portion to prove Bitcoin is liquid, valuable, and real.

People are freaking out because Strategyᴮ sold 32 BTC. That’s 0.0038% of its 843,738 BTC stack. Meanwhile Jeff Walton Jeff Walton just explained the real issue: legacy finance is still treating billions in Bitcoin on the balance sheet like it’s worth zero. So Saylor sells a tiny piece, converts it to cash, and forces them to admit the asset is real. h/t: Bankless

Jamie Dimon’s evolution: ❌ 2017 - BTC around $5,600 “If you’re stupid enough to buy Bitcoin, you’ll pay the price one day.” ✅ 2026 - JPMorgan now “Hey, buy Bitcoin products from us. It’s not a tulip bubble anymore - we found a way to charge fees on it.” Legacy finance 🤡

Jeff Walton’s MSTR story is wild. He rode it down from ~$1,200 to ~$100, watched the market call Strategyᴮ dead, then looked at the debt profile and said: the market is wrong. When Bitcoin hit $19k again, he took his bonus, portfolio, retirement accounts, brokerage - even the last $7,500 from his HELOC - and bought long-dated MSTR calls. Absolute conviction. Absolutely not for normal humans. h/t Natalie Brunell ⚡️

It’s funny watching people get shocked over some of Saylor’s AI posts. But Michael Saylor himself explained exactly WHY he does it. Most people will never voluntarily sit down and study: monetary theory, inflation, capital preservation, Bitcoin economics... 1 - First you need attention 2 - Then emotion 3 - Then curiosity Only after that will people listen to the deeper message. As Saylor said: “Sometimes you have to be colorful, witty, entertaining… or a little bit edgy.” The memes are the hook. The real message comes after.

“Never sell your Bitcoin” was never meant as: “Never make intelligent financial decisions.” When Michael Saylor talks about potentially selling BTC from the $MSTR balance sheet, he’s talking about strategic capital allocation designed to maximize long-term Bitcoin ownership. That’s very different from: “I sold my Bitcoin to buy a sports car.” Before selling Bitcoin, always ask yourself: Will this thing I’m buying still matter in 10 years? 20 years? 100 years? Because Bitcoin probably will. As Saylor said: "You don’t sell Cyber Manhattan for a horse and buggy."

Saylor had anxiety buying Bitcoin at $9k - not because it might crash, but because he couldn’t buy fast enough 😂 The exchange literally tells him: “You have to stop now. You’re buying too much. You’re blowing out the spreads.” Meanwhile he’s sitting there barely able to sleep, not because Bitcoin is crashing… but because someone else might suddenly “get it” and send the price to $10k, $11k, $12k before he finishes buying. “I have to get this trade in before the rest of the world comes to its senses.” One of the best Saylor clips ever - and also one of the rare moments where you can genuinely see him smiling from the heart while telling the story 😂

"How do you sell 1 Bitcoin and buy 10?" Saylor’s answer in simple terms: Strategyᴮ raises billions through STRC, buys Bitcoin with it, then only sells a tiny appreciated portion to cover dividends. Example: Raise $3.2B Buy $3.2B BTC Dividend cost = ~$80–90M So they’re effectively buying ~30 BTC for every 1 BTC sold. As long as BTC appreciates faster than ~2.3% annually, the engine keeps compounding.

The Q&A got really interesting when someone asked: “What happens if a huge leveraged unwind dumps billions of STRC onto the market?” Saylor’s answer was basically: That’s literally what the instrument was designed for. He said if STRC trades down 50-100 basis points, billions of dollars of capital are incentivized to step in and buy it back toward par. “If you push the ship down, there’s more force pushing it up.” Most people still think this is a normal preferred stock. They’re engineering an entire digital credit system around Bitcoin.

Saylor explains why they may eventually sell a small portion of Bitcoin: - If Bitcoin can’t be sold, critics say it has no value - If it has no value, the balance sheet value = zero - Credit rating agencies must recognize BTC as a real asset - We only need to sell a tiny appreciated portion
