People are overthinking the 32 BTC sale. “Why sell?” “Why not just buy less next week?” “Is this bearish?” Michael Michael Saylor already explained the logic: • If Bitcoin can’t be sold, critics say it has no value. • If it has no value, the balance sheet value is zero. • If the balance sheet value is zero, credit rating agencies ignore it. • So you sell a tiny appreciated portion to prove Bitcoin is liquid, valuable, and real.

“Strategy is going bankrupt.” Peter Schiff just said this today. Saylor’s response? He already gave it two months ago: “You can’t pay a dividend on preferred stock that would create an insolvency event.” Translation: preferred stock does not force bankruptcy. If Strategy can’t pay the dividend without becoming insolvent, the dividend gets suspended. That’s it. But here’s the part people keep missing: “If Bitcoin goes up 2%, we can pay the dividends forever.” If you don’t think Bitcoin can average 2% a year, why are you even looking at preferred equity in a Bitcoin company? h/t Crypto Banter Bankless

Jeff Walton’s MSTR story is wild. He rode it down from ~$1,200 to ~$100, watched the market call Strategyᴮ dead, then looked at the debt profile and said: the market is wrong. When Bitcoin hit $19k again, he took his bonus, portfolio, retirement accounts, brokerage - even the last $7,500 from his HELOC - and bought long-dated MSTR calls. Absolute conviction. Meanwhile Jeff Walton Jeff Walton just explained the real issue: legacy finance is still treating billions in Bitcoin on the balance sheet like it’s worth zero. It’s funny watching people get shocked over some of Saylor’s AI posts. But Michael Saylor himself explained exactly WHY he does it. Most people will never voluntarily sit down and study: monetary theory, inflation, capital preservation, Bitcoin economics... 1 - First you need attention 2 - Then emotion 3 - Then curiosity Only after that will people listen to the deeper message. As Saylor said: “Sometimes you have to be colorful, witty, entertaining… or a little bit edgy.” The memes are the hook. The real message comes after.

Saylor on his expectations after buying Bitcoin: “I didn’t expect this to work in 12 weeks. I thought maybe in 1-3 years people would stop thinking I’m an idiot… and in 10 years I’d be glad I did it.” He also talked about the only way he lost money on Apple: trying to trade it with leverage. He bought LEAP call options, the stock stayed down too long, the options expired… then Apple exploded higher right after. His lesson: If you truly have conviction, buy the underlying asset, avoid leverage, and hold it long enough for the thesis to play out.
