This family in Black Mountain had over 1,000 yards of debris wash up on their property and completely transform it. Unfortunately they lost their house and have no help from FEMA. WATCH: 60 Minutes' lawyers responded to my demand letter by email this morning (5/19).. Stating, "CBS News stands by the accuracy and fairness of its reporting" regarding their recent report on Hurricane Helene volunteers. In the 3-page PDF file, they admit myself and others were shown “only in passing” in the recent "Disaster Tourists" segment — right next to references to groups with “white supremacist affiliations.” Yet they “respectfully disagree” there’s anything false or defamatory about the way we were depicted as whole… What do you think? Despite major backlash from the public, who were angered by the broad implication that WNC volunteers were often "white supremacists", this is the response from CBS: “we didn’t explicitly call you that.” I say, we aren't being loud enough about this... #60Minutes #CBS #HurricaneHelene #WNC

FEMA put up a gate blocking the WV Boys road... Within 12 hours someone took a chainsaw to it and cut it down... A patriot indeed... Shortly after I left the supply HUB I established at the Post Office in Bat Cave, I was visited by an arrogant Stephen Duncan (Chimney Rock Town Administrator, and also NC elections commissioner)-what a surprise... Duncan also owns major stakes in commercial properties in the area, he claimed we could no longer cross the county line to run supplies or aid into Chimney Rock, he asked who gave us the authority to cut the WV Boys road to CR, I said "The Lord gave us the authority". Since then, Duncan never liked me much, after I recorded him without his knowledge, I posted the video and shortly after I was asked to leave Bat Cave by the Henderson County Sherriff's office for false claims made against me. Now, in my absence, FEMA has advanced funds for a contract in the amount of $288,000 to provide multiple gates blocking the people's road, it will be manned by armed private security with night vision... They basically started their own militia to bully property owners around. We all could sense that a land grab in Western North Carolina was imminent, but none of us knew quite how it would manifest on the ground. Well, as of November 6th we can all take the tin foil hats off, as FEMA has officially commenced a "Land Acquisition Project" in Helene affected areas. "To help minimize future flood losses the buyback program includes Acquisition and Structure Demolition/Relocation – The community buys, with FEMA funding, the property from the homeowner and demolishes or relocates any structures on the property."-FEMA Hazard Mitigation Acquisition Program Once local officials condemn buildings entirely or deny building permits for a variety of reasons, FEMA is moving in and buying out properties for "75% of fair market value" of the land, regardless if the house is damaged or not. What this means is, people are being forced off of land they have been for generations and given miniscule payments for the land by FEMA and/or their sub-contractors. They are also facilitating demolitions. FEMA is using the green agenda and man-made climate change rhetoric to justify making drastic changes to zoning/permits, claiming man-made climate change will continue to produce flooding in areas that have historically never experienced flooding. For which reason, they are instituting new flood planes (100 year and 500 year) which effectively make it impossible for residents to acquire building permits in these newly "flood prone" areas. Areas that have been established for hundreds of years and never had an issue with this magnitude of flooding until Hurricane Helene. I spent a lot of time with the residents on this stretch of the Nolichucky River (River of Death in Cherokee). There were 10 deceased victims found on this short stretch alone. The residents pleaded with local officials for over a week to have the bodies removed, ultimately it was civilian teams from out of state who answered that call to remove the victims, including that of a 5 year old child. Their home was filled with thousands of flies, the horror and trauma these people experienced due to the incompetence of government is truly astounding and heartbreaking, as well as infuriating. There are currently debris piles where their rural mailbox is located that span 40ft in height, that are littered with dozens of flags where cadaver dogs made "hits". These piles remain untouched by operators or recovery crews due to the vast amount of similar piles there are in this region. The missing remain in these piles, please send cadaver dogs to Western North Carolina immediately. This region deserves closure... While out scouting today, and checking on a few folks I helped in the first weeks, I came across a lot of painful sights as always. It's impossible to comprehend how much area was devastated like this, more than 1,000 square miles easily...
