![Before Dr. Taylor Marshall disclosed asking for the intercession of Francis, as was on display last week, it is worthwhile to recall what Marshall said about the same man just four years ago, in 2022. — For those unfamiliar with Marshall’s work, this was his fundamental attitude towards Francis until his death, always being one of his most severe critics. In his video entitled “Who divides the Church, those speaking heresy or the heretics?” Dr. Marshall recounted the response of faithful Catholics to Archbishop Nestorius and his public profession of heresy, applauding those who denounced the heretical Archbishop. Marshall then defended himself against those who would say “Taylor, you can’t say that. You shouldn’t say that. That’s bad. You’re dividing the Church. You’re leading people out of the Church. No [emphatic] it’s the heretics [pointing at Cardinal Hollerich and Francis] who are dividing the Church.” After this, Dr. Taylor Marshall plainly and confidently called Francis a heretic. “Francis, heretic. In the public, word for word, denied what Pius XII taught. Heretic.” One must therefore ask: why would Marshall ask someone he identified as a heretic to intercede for him, especially if the heretic never publicly abjured his views and made public reparation? To use Marshall’s own historical analogy, it would be like asking for the intercession of Archbishop Nestorius. It is not unreasonable to speculate that in due time, Dr. Marshall may begin openly collaborating with John Salza and Robert Siscoe. As Marshall alludes to (though he does not fully appreciate), in the practical order, adhering to the principles of ‘Recognize and Resist’ is nearly identical to admitting a vacancy in the Apostolic See. For example, the canonizations of Francis are treated as worthless, John Paul II’s universal disciplinary laws are rejected, the Novus Ordo Missae is seen as an incentive to impiety, the conciliar errors are denounced, etc. Once acquainted with Catholic principles of ecclesiology (and ignoring the evident facts of the Crisis), Novus Ordo conservatism is the only viable option. A very interesting development.

Bishop Sanborn, reflecting on Nostra Aetate #4, outlines the unique Jewish responsibility for the crucifixion of Christ, explaining why it cannot be attributed to all Jews at that time or, as has become popular, the Romans. Pontius Pilate, he notes, was “very, very reluctant” to authorize the crucifixion but only by the “pressure” of Jews did he ultimately consent, despite making many protests. The full clip (~7 min) is definitely worth a watch. You won’t hear any other Bishop saying this today.
