๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ท Former Greek Minister Yanis Varoufakis stated that the arrival of around 1 million Albanian migrants in 1991, who stayed and built their lives in Greece, helped make Greece a โ€œstronger and better country.โ€ This is the reality many people already know. Albanians worked hard, built businesses, supported the economy, raised families, and became part of the success of modern Greece. The Truth About Balkan Identity Why do some people hate admitting that many who call themselves โ€œSlavsโ€ are, in fact, descendants of the original Illyrianโ€“Albanian people? Because the truth challenges the stories theyโ€™ve been told for generations. ๐Ÿ’ก History and genetics show something simple: Large parts of todayโ€™s so-called โ€œSlavicโ€ populations were not replaced โ€” they were locals who later adopted Slavic language and culture. But instead of acknowledging this, some prefer to say โ€œBalkan peopleโ€ to avoid recognising the ancient Albanian/Illyrian roots of the region. Why the denial? โœจ It threatens political myths. โœจ It challenges national narratives. โœจ It exposes the reality of cultural Slavicisation. โœจ It confirms the deep, ancient presence of Albanians in the region. Albanians are not newcomers โ€” we are the oldest continuous people of the Western Balkans. And no amount of rewriting can erase history. ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฑ Illyrian roots run deep. Albanian identity is older than borders. Facts are stronger than hate. ๐Ÿ‡ฝ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿฆ…๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป

๐Ÿ’” THIS SHOULD SHOCK EVERYONE IN EUROPE It is deeply sad to watch a Serbian citizen from the Roma community tell his own president that he was bullied and discriminated against because of his ethnicity, and that his difficulties at school meant he struggled to learn Serbian properly. Yet this young man taught himself English by watching television. That should be a story of determination and intelligence. Instead, the response he receives appears to focus on the fact that he does not speak Serbian well, while he is trying to explain why he struggled in the first place. And then comes perhaps the saddest part: the young man apologises to his own president while describing the discrimination he suffered. ๐Ÿฅน A child or young person who has experienced ethnic bullying should not be made to feel ashamed of his language ability. He should be heard, respected and supported. Compare that with Kosovo. Many Kosovo Serbs speak little or no Albanian, yet they participate across public life and society, and Serbian is constitutionally recognised as an official language alongside Albanian. That is what a multi-ethnic society should work towards protecting minorities without demanding that they abandon their identity first. The same principle should apply everywhere in the Balkans, including North Macedonia: Albanians, Roma, Serbs and every other community deserve equal dignity, opportunity and protection from discrimination. President Vuฤiฤ‡, this young man did not need to be embarrassed about his Serbian and accuse him of exaggerationโ€ฆ. He needed his president to hear him. No citizen should ever have to apologise to their president for being the victim of racism or ethnic bullying. Absolutely heartbreaking to watch. ๐Ÿ’” ะะปะตะบัะฐะฝะดะฐั€ ะ’ัƒั‡ะธั› #RomaRights #StopDiscrimination #HumanRights #Serbia #Kosovo #Balkans #Equality #MinorityRights

๐Ÿšจ WHAT ATHENS UNIVERSITY TEACHES ITS STUDENTS ABOUT ALBANIANS ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ท While some people continue trying to erase or minimise the Albanian contribution to Greek history, students in Athens are being taught about the deep and widespread Albanian-speaking presence across Greece. According to the lecture: ๐Ÿ”ด Many Albanians remained Christian for centuries, with significant conversion to Islam occurring much later particularly during the 17th and 18th centuries. ๐Ÿ”ด Arvanites spoke Albanian or were bilingual, and historically there was no clear separation between them and the surrounding Greek population. ๐Ÿ”ด Albanian-speaking communities were historically present across Attica, southern Euboea, Thebes, Livadeia, Arta, Messolonghi and the region surrounding the Thyamis Kalamas River. ๐Ÿ”ด Entire villages in these regions traditionally spoke Albanian. ๐Ÿ”ด The lecturer also discusses the theory that the name Plaka, Athensโ€™ oldest continuously inhabited neighbourhood, may derive from the Albanian word โ€œplakรซ/plaka,โ€ meaning โ€œold.โ€ This lecture presents something that can no longer be hidden: Albanians and Albanian-speaking Arvanites were deeply woven into the historical, cultural and social fabric of Greece. This is not about denying modern Greek identity. It is about recognising the Albanian-speaking communities that helped shape the countryโ€™s history. History cannot be erased simply because it makes some people uncomfortable. When these subjects are discussed inside an Athens university lecture hall, perhaps it is time for the wider public to listen as well. ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฑ The Albanian presence in Greece is not a modern invention it is part of the countryโ€™s documented historical story. #Albanians #Arvanites #Arbereshe #AlbanianHistory #GreekHistory #Athens #Attica #Plaka #Euboea #Thyamis #Kalamas #HistoricalTruth

Albanians of Turkey ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฑโค๏ธ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ท When the streets of Istanbul fill with red and black, it is not just a celebration โ€” it is memory awakening. It is history breathing again. It is roots refusing to fade. According to official Turkish data from years ago , around 5 million people of Albanian origin live in Turkey today. But recent research from joint institutions in Albania and Kosova, including tells a deeper truth: ๐Ÿ‘‰ over 10 million Albanians live in Turkey, with the majority in Istanbul alone following with Bursa. These are not numbers โ€” these are hearts. Families who carried Albanian names, language, blood, and pride across centuries. People who built lives in Turkey while never letting go of who they are. Empires rose and fell. Borders changed. Names were altered. But Albanian identity survived โ€” quietly, stubbornly, honorably. Seeing Albanians celebrate openly in Istanbul today is powerful. It says: we are still here. It says: we remember. It says: no distance can erase origin. To our brothers and sisters in Turkey โ€” you are not forgotten, you were never lost. You are part of the same story, the same roots, the same soul. Wherever Albanians live, Albania lives. Wherever Albanian hearts beat, history continues. ๐Ÿ–คโค๏ธ #AlbaniansOfTurkey #Arnavut #Istanbul #AlbanianDiaspora #Rrรซnjรซt #OneBloodOneHistory
