I hate to name drop, but this was me vs Blake Treinen in 2021. He’s on the Dodgers. He’s been pitching in the MLB for the last 12 years. 583 MLB IP. This is me in MLB camp vs. an MLB pitcher as an MLB camp non roster invite. Is this good enough for you or does this not count?

notice how they are all trying to hold direction “through” the wall not spin off. Lesson there.

Since the quoted post is blowing up, here is a more in-depth breakdown of why I personally believe post contact direction & channeling all of your energy “through” w/ medball movement prep is vital to creating efficient movement patterns & direction in the swing. Listen below👇

One of the biggest “malpractices” that has been commonly accepted by our game is bat speed training with a lack of directional focus. This “training” is only good when paired with a directional “constraint” to HIT THROUGH THE BALL FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE & MAINTAIN POSTURE.

Routine suggestions I sent to an MLB player l've worked with this month (explained) Since this video, he has really started to understand spacing, direction, and getting in the ground to make that “one move” feeling to the ball instead of having a bunch of steps that lead to disconnection and direction taking him off of the ball. He's now in a place to be adjustable to create maximum room for error, a lot more backspin, and more efficient simple moves that are leading to more in-game success. This is the work I consistently do for my one-on-one clients. it really helps simplify hitting and make the work very easy to attack.
