Very few doctors in the world, have the courage to talk about COVID Vaccine side effects. A big shout out to Dr Aseem Malhotra for speaking so fearlessly at the US 🇺🇸 Senate investigating COVID Vaccine side effects. He talks of increasing risks of cancer and heart attacks from these vaccines. Advanced countries have robust systems to report drug injuries. When they pull out trends, its backed by data. India has a rudimentary Vaccine injury system (VAERS), that's not even available to general public. So even if we want, we have no system to pull out quality data for a trend analysis. ---- I say this #everydamnday We need Health back in #Healthcare. Before #HPVvaccine rollout, India 🇮🇳needs a robust Vaccine Injury Reporting System. 1. Ordinary citizens should be able to report vaccine side-effects and injuries. 2. UK 🇬🇧 has mobile app called Yellow card scheme, for logging side-effects of vaccines & medicines. 3. US 🇺🇸 has VAERS. 1.7 million adverse events were logged after Covid vaccine. Imagine a population of 300-350 million and 1.7 incidents!!! The system literally broke. 4. These are passive systems, not every entry logged in automatically classified as a valid side-effects. 5. But the rich data it generates, helps doctors and policy makers to continue or discontinue a vaccine. 6. The data is used extensively by lawyers for injury claims. 7. Insurance companies and actuaries use the data to create Insurance policies. There is merit in democratization of data gathering on vaccines injury and side-effects and also overall drug injuries.
