When it's ready, that program goes straight to our DMG MORI. The machine rotates and the tool engages. Then, it executes exactly what you see on screen, with extreme precision. Titanium is one of the hardest materials to machine. It cuts much slower than aluminum, runs hot, and deep bowl-like geometry will snap a tool if chips aren't continuously flushed out with coolant. That strength is what allows thin, complex parts to hold tight tolerances, making it the material of choice for high-performance satellites that have to survive the harshest environment there is. Astranis machines titanium in-house at our factory in Northern California, building world-class hardware on American soil.
