Activity from P8 Poseidon anti-submarine/maritime aircraft are a common sight along US East Coast. Right now account's using lots of emojis are claiming 'zOMG, unusual, must be a Russian sub of New York' Do not fall for the charlatans.

Did someone do something? Infamous zombie-tanker ARCUSAT just made a 180° turn halfway through Danish Straits and is doing max speed towards North Sea. Being a stateless ship any navy is in their full right to stop her anywhere. This an action some have demanded past week.

The Baltic GPS Jammer is in Kaliningrad. Fourth proof, refined dataset, second method. Jammer seems to be stationary or atleast always on land. Animated over time: radio horizons of the positions where planes first encounter the jammer. Kaliningrad, Russia outlined.

A Russian brand new fishing boat is almost blocking Öresund strait. They seemingly lost propulsion 4 hours ago, drifted north towards the very narrow channels (~300m) but seem to have anchored. Swedish coast guard and police have been at scene. AIS-caveats apply.

Russian 'research' ship AKADEMIK N SHRAKOV had an unfortunate 4 hour engine breakdown just S of port of Ystad, Swedish territory. They were offered assistance from both Navy and Coast Guard, but declined. Left Kaliningrad yesterday. Ie, Russian navy stopped to spy, in Sweden.

South Baltic sea is experiencing a newish type of GNSS-jamming. It is affecting units at sea level far and wide, much further than one ground based jammer can reach. The most intense attack so far took place as the political elite of Denmark and 100k visitors met at Bornholm.

Today at 1109Z what looks like a mass spoof event of AIS-signal took place in central Baltic Sea. In an area from approximately Bornholm to mid Gulf of Finland hundreds (thousands?) of new AIS-messages suddenly appeared. A large part of them military ships.

Last 24h seven sanctioned tankers have left Baltic Sea. None has entered. Too early for firm conclusions (lack data) but from last weeks replay and memory this might be highly unusual. We ought to see 5-10. Replays from

Danish Navy has intercepted conspicuous freighter MIKHAIL DUDIN 9057329, on Swedish territory at that. MD is interesting because spent nuclear fuel transports, odd movements and sometimes intense naval forces scrutiny. Last port was shipyard parts of St Petersburg.

Russian Navy Tug ALEKSANDR FROLOV is stationary along the main shipping artery to/from Baltic Sea between Denmark and Germany since early morning. A senior analyst calls it "Contingency support" which I suppose refers to as fixing unforeseen bad stuff.

Just an anecdote, but today a German air force ppl transport was spoofed all the way to Hanover, and down to ~1000m altitude at that. I have not kept close enough track to say if unique, but it is remarkably far and low and did not start by Kaliningrad as usual but in E Poland

Two Russian camping tourists have been arrested and put in a migration facility after public in Gävle north of Stockholm found their running around in the woods with radios suspicious. They were found in vicinity of a protected persons adress. Case is wholly unclear imho.

Russian navy-affiliated tug SARMAT 8027133 is towing something back and forth east of Gotland since Aug 30. German navy with Swedish assistance is on their 13th day of submarine activity, described officially as an exercise. The tug has been operating partly inside SE territory

A German frigate and an auxiliary/command ship has been running readiness patterns of the coast of Latvia for ~36h, slowing down 3.5h ago. Pattern is unusual. Both ship were doing speed continuously in same area, a stance used to keep ship ready for engagement. I was once told.

Last 48h 15 sanctioned tankers have passed Germany, of which three chose to go through German territory. Selections represent parts of the Russian so called shadow fleet, not all shadow tankers are sanctioned but I limit my selection to the ones on TankerTrackers.com, Inc.'s master list.

AIS-replay of the situation where Mark Zuckerbergs yacht's have been accused of refusing to help a small boat in distress. The 2 women, a kid and a dog was rescued by a small cruise ship. Zuckerberg's work boat with several small boats, crane, heli passed with yacht stationary.

Since 5 days Russian navy is seemingly patrolling the main entrance to Baltic Sea. Albeit with a tug, ALEKSANDR FROLOV, but hard to construe it differently.

Yesterday Russian navy tanker GENERAL SKOBELEV idled by Sweden's border a few hours until a Swedish corvette approached and maneuvered at high speed. The tanker is often accompanied by proper warships and is at present shadowed by Danish navy leaving Baltic Sea. 'Håll gränsen'

Russian Navy is reinforcing Baltic Sea, both materially (more guns) and symbolically. Corvette SKR-461 ADMIRAL KASATANOV with tanker has passed Great Belt into Baltic Sea flying a brand new battle ensign. They were shadowed by a larger than usual NATO presence.

The pattern of Russia-affiliated tankers avoiding hostile south Baltic Swedish waters have strengthened. No outbound tankers has passed north of Bornholm since Sat and today inbound tankers started showing the same pattern. This is brand new behavior, at least since Jan 1 2026.

Pilot of the aircraft carrying president von der Leyen experienced GPS issues as they approached Plovdiv airport, Bulgaria Sun Aug 31. Recordings of tower and plane comms are clear. Transponder reported good GPS-signal and is likely separate from the instrument pilots used.

A Swedish warship (likely Visby stealth corvette) patrolled the Kaliningrad border yesterday, for at least 6 hours. Time overlaps with the Greenpeace-incident by Fehmarn belt, where a Russian warship interrupted a protest against shadow fleet traffic. AIS-caveats apply.

The Latvian ship Zircone, suspected of breaking Russian sanction and posing an environmental threat to Baltic Sea has during last 36h been inspected by SE fighter jets, coast guard and navy. All the while continuing her activities. I suppose SE state is building a case.

UK has acted against Russian freighter SINEGORSK on suspicions of cable sabotage. Royal Navy chased her away after she anchored close to several cross-Atlantic communication cables.

The Kaliningrad jammer-spoofer komplex completely broke the navigation systems of shadow tanker PATE 9338905 as she passed south Baltic Sea last 24h. Normally, systems recover but this one seem to suffer a severe concussion or intoxication. Just an anecdote =)

Odd AIS-signals, Ålands hav area, May 16-19. I decided to take a closer look at what is going and rewrote my detection script and looked for errors (mine or data providers). Jam is real, period short. I did not identify any grave systematic errors in analysis nor data.

Swedish Coast Guard allegedly boarded a shadow tanker east of Gotland 2 days ago and found unusual radio equipment, according to Aftonbladet (undisclosed sources). CG denies it. I can't find any AIS-track indicating a boarding. Gotland right now houses most of SE leadership.
