Yknow I love how much gets said in this without any actual dialogue Ego wanted perspective He gets that perspective by getting a “peasant dish” from a rat, A simple dish like his mom used to make, flashing him back to when he was a kid where food was just something to enjoy and that he too was once a “peasant” And the fact he drops his pen and loses his job as critic after this, he just starts eating food to enjoy it again

I was thinking about how much I love this part of Up, The importance of not clinging on to the past, and being able to move on is like the main theme here And it’s the main parallel between Carl and Charles Both are by this point miserable and lonely old men, who are desperately clinging into what they once had, Carl in the end manages to let go, and is rewarded with new happiness with Russel and Doug in his life Muntz refuses to let go, which costs him his sanity and ends up dragging him to his demise

I was thinking about how the 1994 cartoon changed Dr Octopus into being one of Peter’s science heroes I think this is one of the lesser enduring changes the show made? Yeah we’ve had a couple adaptations reuse the idea like Raimi and Insomniac but we’ve also had numerous adaptations that don’t use it It’s like the Symbiote or Connor’s where almost every adaptation after has traces of the idea
