Technology developed by a Brave1 member company is already destroying Russian “Banderol” missile-drones. The enemy uses these systems to terrorize Ukrainian cities — now Ukraine has a new technological answer. The cost of interception is significantly lower than the missile-drone itself: the economics of war work in our favor. This is not the only system capable of countering "Banderols". How do you stop a fiber-optic drone that is immune to EW? The answer is kinetic — you have to shoot it down. But hitting such a small, high-speed target has been the primary bottleneck for defenders. A Brave1 participant has developed a solution: a compact, AI-powered turret that detects, tracks, and neutralizes drones autonomously. The operator simply authorizes the strike. Of course, the turret is not limited to countering fiber-optic drones — it effectively downs FPVs, Molniyas and other UAV that the enemy deploys against our forces. April marked their highest mission count yet, earning the unit 1st place in the ePoints program under the UGV category. According to Ihor Ivashchenko, the deputy battalion commander, the ranking isn't what matters — it's about doubling the number of lives saved. The key driver of this achievement was the "Maul" UGV, the battalion’s in-house development featuring an armored capsule and an internal combustion engine.

We tested an FPV drone detection solution from the American startup Surtr as a part of the Test in Ukraine program. Thanks to AI-powered technology, data from acoustic and optical sensors is instantly combined into a single picture of the battlefield. As a result, the system detects and calculates the coordinates of aerial targets with minimum latency. Watch the video to see how the trials went.
