Today’s Activity 💪 Woke up around 3 am. This is when cortisol starts to rise. Went back to sleep. Slept a total of 6 hrs 53 minutes but only got 26 minutes of Deep Sleep. If I don’t get at least 45 Minutes of Deep Sleep I don’t feel as rested. Hyperthyroidism affects my deep sleep. It’s getting better since I reduced my thyroid meds 25 days ago. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2008. The first picture was taken in 2018. Back then I was taking 60 mg of geodon, 5 Xanax a day, and Cymbalta. I didn’t have the best results on meds & they completely stopped working in 2023. Prior to starting a ketogenic diet I could only drive 15 minutes away from my house. I experienced delusional beliefs that my food was being poisoned, uncontrollable anxiety despite meds and my cognition was terrible. I couldn’t calculate my age despite knowing my birthdate. I struggled daily with everything. Side effects from meds were overwhelming and I thought I was going to die. So much changed for me after starting medical keto, intermittent fasting, and daily exercise. Those metabolic therapies drop my glucose and raise my ketones. My brain runs more efficiently on ketones. I wore a CGM for 2 years and also used a keto mojo reader. I can still have symptoms today if my ketones drop too low. Diet absolutely matters. I wish I knew about metabolic therapies when I was first diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2008. Please check out more information at Metabolic Mind Georgia Ede MD

Beach day with schizophrenia means I take my little cooler with me. I fill it with things that keep my mental health in check. It’s portable. Perfect for going on a walk. I never leave my house without it. This is what I’m taking today. 👇 It helps me feel well.
