This is our Border Patrol being targeted at their hotel in Minneapolis - surrounded, blocked in, glass smashed, people trying to force their way inside. This is NOT a protest. This is an attack on law enforcement.

CBP is pausing all construction activity in Big Bend National Park while I visit and conduct a personal, on-the-ground evaluation. CBP is firmly committed to protecting America, and that includes our national treasures like Big Bend National Park (BBNP). We know the current and predictable national security threats and they are real. Now over the next couple of days, I will join a small team to evaluate the terrain and listen to local leadership, community members and stakeholders to ensure that we secure our borders while simultaneously protecting BBNP for generations to come.

I just signed an order doubling how far offshore CBP can stop, search, and seize suspected smuggling vessels in four high-threat areas - from 12 to 24 nautical miles. Cartels and smugglers can no longer operate just beyond our reach. We will stop them before they reach our shores. Read more:

Outstanding coordination by Border Patrol, AMO, HSI and Texas DPS. Suspected human smugglers hit 100+ mph and bailed out when their vehicle was disabled. One then carjacked a civilian at gunpoint. Smugglers risk lives for profit. We will keep taking them down.

The days of waiting for threats to come to us are over. On Thursday in El Paso, U.S. and Mexican forces trained together to respond fast and hit threats from both sides of the border. The Juárez Cartel- now designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization has been put on alert. We’re ready.

Today, I’m proud to announce Rosario “Pete” Vasquez as the Chief Rosario “Pete” Vasquez of the U.S. Border Patrol. Pete has dedicated more than 26 years to securing our Nation’s borders and serving the men and women of the Border Patrol. As we continue building on the most secure border in history, I can't think of no one better prepared to lead this organization into its next chapter.

“We’ve actually increased the training based on these new threats that the agents are facing.” Training is not the issue, politicians riling up their constituents is.

Today we signed The Customs Reform Executive Order, putting America First for trade enforcement. It protects domestic industry from unfair competition, holds bad actors accountable, and reinforces that economic security is national security.

Smart Border Wall is an investment! #Wallswork Smart Wall = fewer illegal entries = increased safety and tax savings for every American! Even during this unnecessary shutdown, wall construction infused with smart technology continues. Now if Congress would just approve our appropriations, we could pay these CBP personnel that are dedicated to protecting America.

Smugglers are part of foreign terrorist organizations- pay any of them to smuggle you, anyone or anything into the U.S. and you will be prosecuted for supporting terrorism! Think about it! America First!

Save money for months, pay a smuggler $$$$, risk your life traveling to the U.S. illegally, all to get arrested within minutes and deported within hours. Not smart! Save your money, save your life, stay home! Thank you to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Department of War 🇺🇸 Secretary Of State Marco Rubio for helping secure the border and keep America safe.

Two people in distress called 911 from New Mexico’s remote Guadalupe Canyon. Border Patrol Horse Patrol agents rode into the mountains, found them and coordinated with a CBP AMO helicopter to get them out safely. It rarely makes headlines, but our people carry out rescues like this more often than most Americans realize.

Different border. Same mission. We met with frontline personnel and partners across the northern border to strengthen the capabilities that keep our nation secure. Together, we protect all of America’s borders.
