Satellite derived 24 hour precipitation map from 20th November to 4th December shows how initially #CycloneSenyar strengthened and dumped a lot of rains over parts of Sumatra and then slowly #CycloneDitwah created havoc over Sri Lanka before moving up along the coast of Peninsular India. The 2 km long traffic jam at Ooty today on the Dodfabetta / Kotagiri road. Fortunately I was in the opposite direction since I was climbing down to the plains from Mudumalai via Ooty. Wondering how bad yesterday afternoon would have been. But full credit to Nilgiris Police who were in full force organizing traffic from Thalaikundha to ensure the traffic was flowing somehow against all odds.
