Today we're releasing the first annual "State of AI Coding" report. At Greptile we review a billion lines of code a month written by every coding agent imaginable. This means we have a lot of data. In this report, we compiled some of the most interesting trends we observed this year. Link below:

Greptile has raised $25M to Kill The Bug. The round is led by Benchmark with Eric Vishria joining our board. Today, code is written by humans and a variety of coding agents like Devin, Claude Code, and Cursor. Greptile serves as the independent and universal code review layer. This month alone, Greptile reviewed 500M lines of code for top companies like Brex, Substack, PostHog, Bilt, and even YC’s internal software team, helping prevent 180,000+ bugs. Alongside our Series A - we’re excited to announce Greptile v3 - a brand new agent architecture capable of catching >3x more critical bugs than Greptile v2. Available now to all users. 🧵

introducing t-rex with t-rex enabled, greptile doesn't just review your PR, it runs your branch in a sandbox to find bugs. it mocks api calls, clicks around the UI, and writes + runs unit tests in our benchmarks, it caught ~20% more bugs than base greptile. most of the new bugs caught could not have been caught with more inference, they required code execution. t-rex is available in beta to all greptile users

Today I am excited to announce Greptile’s BIGGEST update ever 💥 Greptile is the AI code review bot loved by over 3,000 software teams across the world. We’re launching four things today: 🧠 Long-term memory for the code review agent so it can intelligently learn your company's idiosyncrasies and best practices 🤝 Ability to connect your Jira, Google Docs, and Notion via MCP so Greptile can have more context 🎯 Ability to create highly scoped rules that only apply to certain repos and file patterns 💰 A simpler, more predictable pricing model of flat $30/month/developer. Let’s dive in 🧵

Today we’re releasing Greptile Agent v4, our best code review agent yet. It’s catches more tricky bugs than v3, while also having far fewer false positives. We're also updating our pricing to help us support power users.

introducing knowledge bases. greptile maintains detailed docs about how your codebase works, and uses them during review. for each part of the codebase, it maintains a running list of past bugs. this way, the next time it reviews that part of the code, it knows what to look for. greptile catches 12.2% more bugs with knowledge bases enabled! now available to all users :)

introducing greptile security agent it combines static analysis, sca, and ai agents to efficiently catch security flaws before merge. why did we build this? - coding agents have caused the frequency of security incidents to explode - neither agents nor deterministic methods alone are sufficient for detecting vulnerabilities - security review is best done in conjunction with regular code review because many vulns are really just logical issues with security consequences security review is turned on by default for free for all greptile users.

introducing greptile's linear integration greptile: - finds the linear issue associated with your PR (even if it isn't linked) - ensures that the PR fulfills the requirements of the issue. sometimes PRs aren't buggy, just incomplete. some of the best teams define "complete" in linear!

three nights before this launch, just a couple of hours after we left the office for the night, a burglar used a crowbar to break into our office and stole thousands of dollars of equipment. we purchased and installed security cameras the next day, and that night he came back, thoroughly searched the office, found nothing, and left. unfortunately SFPD let us know there isn't much they can do. we now have security personnel at our office overnight. Daniel Lurie 丹尼爾·羅偉

introducing the greptile partner program. we worked with top dev tool companies like stripe, openai, and datadog to teach greptile how best to use their APIs when greptile detects that your code touches a partner’s API, it reviews the code with additional context from the partner. it then flags the issue along with a link to the docs

we have been LONG overdue for a full refactor. we have been pushing this back in favor of customer facing features but our codebase is starting to slow us down. in the next two weeks we will be refactoring our entire codebase. to make it more fun, we’re making a short-form docuseries about the process. here’s episode one of Anatomy of a Refactor.
