VIDEO: Just a small part of the success recorded by Nigerian troops against bandits around the Ashuwa–Alala axis of Niger State after a fierce clash two days ago. The troops also struck again last night around A’ure–Kuimo in Mariga LGA, dealing another heavy blow to the terrorists. The full extent of the gains is still being assessed, as some of the bandits reportedly fled the area. Kudos to the troops for staying on the offensive and continuing to take the fight to these criminals.

VIDEO: Members of Katsina Community Watch Corps (C-Watch) security outfit in Malumfashi reportedly rescued eight people who had been held captive by bandits. This is the effort that make two C-Watch operatives lost their lives during the rescue operation. The operation reportedly resulted in the deaths of more than 30 armed bandits. In the video below, one of the rescued victims can be heard saying that the chain fastened to his leg could not be removed, and that he was willing to lose the leg if that was what it took to regain his freedom. VIDEO: A Fulani man identified as Usman has made a disturbing threat against communities around Kwanji, extending to Babanna in Borgu and Agwara LGAs of Niger State, as well as border communities in Kebbi State. He reportedly called on Fulani residents to leave the area, while saying they would no longer seek help from Miyetti Allah or take their grievances to court. UPDATE: Troops on patrol in Matazu traced the victim’s captors to the hideout of notorious bandit leader Kachalla Muhammadu deep within the forest. During the operation, the hideout was uncovered and destroyed. The rescued victim seen in the earlier post was recovered from the location, while two other captives were sadly found dead. This development show the harsh realities faced by victims of banditry and the importance of sustained security operations across the Northwest region. Commendation to the Nigerian Army for maintaining pressure on criminal elements and sustaining offensive operations aimed at restoring peace and security in the axis.

SAD NEWS: This morning, four soldiers were reportedly killed during an encounter with Lakurawa militants in Kebbe LGA, Sokoto State. According to local sources, more than 300 militants on motorcycles entered Kebbe around 10am and engaged troops stationed on the outskirts of the town. The attackers reportedly moved into Sabon Gari, where they broke into shops and took mobile phones and other items. They also attacked a military vehicle, damaging its tyres and windscreen. They reportedly entered Kebbe General Hospital, damaged vehicles including an ambulance and a vehicle belonging to the DPO and took phones from patients. The Lakurawa's later left the town with several motorcycles belonging to residents and moved towards communities west of Kebbe, with reports suggesting they entered Ungushi community. As of the time of this report, there is no confirmed information available to us that any Lakurawa fighter was killed during the encounter. This is deeply worrying. The reported scale of the attack and the movement of such a large armed group through Kebbe deserve urgent attention from security authorities. May Allah forgive the fallen soldiers, accept their sacrifice and give their families the strength and patience to bear this painful loss. May their sacrifice never be forgotten.
