It is always more cost effective to keep people healthy than it is to treat them when they are ill. We must invest in public health and primary care to keep people healthy and catch disease early - it's better for the patients and it's better for the taxpayer.

Brexit has cost us billions in lost trade and left us with a stagnant economy. The Conservatives caused this damage. Labour won't fix it. It doesn't matter who the new Labour leader is - if they won't even join a customs union, they'll fail to grow the economy.

The Police need the practical and political support of our Police & Crime Commissioner. Frontline police doing a very difficult and dangerous job do not need their boss to be legitimising the violence and rioting. She should consider her position.

So far, this government has sent more Home Secretaries to Rwanda than they have refugees or asylum seekers. This plan has cost the taxpayer £500 million. It's cruel, it's immoral, it's expensive, it damages our international reputation and it won't stop the boats.

I'm hugely honoured to be appointed Mental Health Spokesperson for the Lib Dems. This is an issue close to my heart. I've lost too many colleagues to suicide. Seeing those around me struggle lead me to be a trustee of a mental health charity for several years. More here ⬇️
