Tesla FSD v14.3.7 vs a Traffic Stop: Does It Actually Pull Over? Welp, got pulled over for the first time today while FSD v14.3.7 was driving us to the airport to drop my wife off. As soon as the cop's lights came on, the car pulled over, and when the officer stayed behind us with the lights still on, the car remained stopped. If you were ever curious like I was about what the car would do in this situation, now you know!

Tesla FSD v14.3.9: The v14 Build We've Been Waiting For? 600 miles on FSD v14.3.9 and v14.3.8. 0 interventions, 0 disengagements. This is the v14 build we've been waiting for. Tesla has a lot going on in FSD right now: Robotaxi (likely running an early v15), v14 Lite for HW3 vehicles, and v14 for consumer AI4 vehicles. Since v14.3.3 a new dot release has landed every 19.2 days on average. I documented some real regressions in v14.3.5, v14.3.6, and v14.3.7, but v14.3.8 and v14.3.9 are a night and day improvement. v14.3.9 is the best v14 release I've driven with and it's not even close. Are you on v14.3.9 yet? Drop your build and how many interventions you've had since the update in the comments below. 00:00 - Intro 00:58 - Chill Speed Profile Recap w/ v14.3.8 & v14.3.9 02:55 - FSD v14.3.9 Recap 04:35 - Confident Merge Onto I-80E 09:31 - FSD Nicely Slows For Highway Construction Zone 15:31 - FSD Successfully Navigates Final Construction Zone Before Exiting I-35E North 16:30 - FSD Respects Digital “No Turn On Red” Sign 17:35 - Updated FSD v14.3.9 Performance Recap 19:15 - Confirmed Improvement - FSD Is No Longer Skittish Around VRUs 20:04 - FSD Nicely Detects & Slows For VRUs In Shade 20:42 - Start Of Drive Home From Gym 20:55 - Comments About Preferred Routes 22:12 - Feature Request - Ability To Build Custom Routes & Exclude Certain Roads 23:23 - FSD Once Again Demonstrates Increased Confidence Around VRUs 24:31 - FSD Confidently Navigates Around Open Car Door Without Unwanted Slowing 25:24 - FSD Properly Slows For Occluded Vehicle Approaching From Our Right 26:02 - FSD v14.3.9 Is The v14 Build We’ve Been Waiting For 27:48 - Intense Direct Sunlight Is No Longer A Problem For FSD 28:02 - Confirmed Improvement - Dry Wipe Bug in FSD v14.3.8 Seems To Have Been Resolved 29:49 - 600 Miles - 0 Interventions, 0 Disengagements If you are interested in seeing how Tesla FSD performs in the Twin Cities, please like & follow/subscribe. AUTO LANE CHANGE ISSUES CONTINUE W/ FSD V14.2.1.25 Starting with FSD v14.2, there has been a significant regression in the system's confidence when performing automatic lane changes. If a vehicle is following in the adjacent lane at a safe distance and consistent speed, the ego car will often activate the turn signal and begin crossing the lane line before suddenly aborting the maneuver, pausing briefly, and then either proceeding with the lane change or abandoning it entirely. This behavior appeared in v14.2.1 and unfortunately persists in v14.2.1.25. While it is not a safety issue per se, it is definitely one that needs to be addressed, as it causes confusion and frustration for all surrounding drivers on the road when it occurs. FSD v14.3.3: Actually Smart Summon Is Sublime! I tested out Actually Smart Summon again last night w/ FSD v14.3.3 and it is just so darn fast and smooth these days. I used to consider this feature a party trick but with the recent improvements it is actually useful. Great work Tesla AI Team!

FSD v14.2.1 + WINTER CONDITIONS UPDATE With yet another winter storm bearing down on the Upper Midwest, I wanted to remind everyone to stay vigilant when using FSD v14.2.1, especially in snowy conditions. While this build performs far better than any previous FSD version in winter weather (thank you Tesla AI for all the hard work!), there's a notable issue when transitioning from clear pavement to partially snow-covered surfaces—particularly during automatic lane changes at speeds >40mph. Once the lane change begins, the car starts swerving side-to-side, and the longer it continues, the more pronounced the hunting behavior becomes as it searches for drivable space. Earlier this week, I encountered this a few times during a mild snowstorm. With a lifetime of winter driving experience here in Minnesota, I decided to observe how far it would go. I was surprised that the system didn't disengage on its own, as it eventually put the car into a full slide toward the barrier, requiring my intervention. If you notice this behavior, I strongly recommend disengaging early and completing the lane change manually before re-engaging the system.

Nothing But Nets: Tesla FSD v13.2.9 Aces 520-mile Trip Without Interventions On Thursday, I completed my return drive from Des Moines to Minneapolis, with FSD Supervised v13.2.9 flawlessly handling the 260-mile journey without any issues or interventions. Both legs of the trip totaled 520 miles, all driven autonomously by Supervised FSD. I could fly this route, but using FSD is a no-brainer. It makes the trip so easy, comfortable, and stress-free that it’s far better than flying. Part 1 of this trip: Tesla Referral Link:
