People finding out that not the same person draws every scene is hilarious to me. Left is the character designer yajima and right is souta yamazaki who follows the manga very closely.

Dunno if this a hot take or not but outside the zombie stuff the anime version of the action is significantly better.

There are mountains of absurdly well animated sequences in chainsawman s1 can we STOP posting the same ones over and over again.

Out of all the episodes, you chose the one that is one of the best animated in the whole show and beyond anything wit studio would've done for a non action episode.

Basically over-animation is a term used by anime fans to hate on n animation they don't like or understand with out giving actual criticism. So it's just "they ain't have to do all that so it's a problem"

I forgot how much I ADORE this sequence. This whole episode was my favorite looking tybw episode outside the yama vs. Ywach ep.

I consider it a weaker aki vs. Katana. Not bad at all but definitely like a lot of s1 action scenes more same with some of the public safety fighting.

I saw a bunch of people in discord call sukuna vs. Mahoraga an industry wide speed battle and in just couldnt stop laughing at how right they were.

People hyping up jjks explosion but I really wish someone like Hayato kurosaki did it instead. The digital explosion just doesn't fit right and the hand drawn one looks better anyway.

It happens all the time. I remember when the frieren dragon sequence came out and I saw a bunch of "stark runs weird" not even an attempted to understand why they wanted him to run more realistic and grounded. Not caring for the level of dedication to the art in my comments. Sad.

Theres always that tension that builds before the competition. Even when there's tons of noise it gets drowned out. I think the rain is there for that. The level of focus the routine etc. I felt it when I used to wrestle and this movie captures that feeling perfectly in animation

Just noticed that when drnji cuts his own arm off the fireworks visual goes back to explosions. Showcasing denjis refusal and cutting away from reze resulted in the battle. She's LITERALLY pulling on his arm as he's pulling away.

The building sequence is a showcase of how denji needs beam. He loses immediately when beam falls. Action masterclass aside theres an obvious reason he hangs on a beam "wink" to save himself while waiting in beam to save him and keep him in the fight. ALL ANIME ORIGINAL BTW.

My problem with Vincent chansard currently isn't "can't keep up so bad" my problem is his presentation of multiple ideas but not allowing proper focus before introducing the next. That's what lead to clutter. It is a direction issue not a "overanimated" and he should try

I think calling this art would be insane levels of downplay. I can't do it justice with words.

You know...maybe "over-animation" is a real thing...or perhaps it's not always about the background. Sometimes it's the flow of the scene. Don't get me wrong I'm not downplaying that your view of art is confined to a smaller scope. Perhaps art direction is just so...flat.

Yeah this is the type of animation needed for the pochita fight in s2.
