This woman and her husband were stopped at a light at Montgomery & Bush yesterday morning when a tow truck comes out of nowhere & tries to hook onto their Toyota! I spoke to Joanne today who says her car is paid off, paid her registration & doesn’t get why her car was targeted. Note: Specialty Towing didn’t return my call/email for this story. But City Attorney David Chiu did suspend the company this year for illegal towing calling them “unscrupulous”. Joanne says the tow truck also chased them for several blocks once they were able to escape! More on my story shortly…heading to the studio to anchor the news, brb… #SanFrancisco

Multiple sources tell me multiple suspects made off w/about $48,000 in product from the Gucci store in San Francisco around 3:40pm today. SFPD and CHP confirm a chase ensued. The vehicle was used in a previous armed robber & was lost on the peninsula. No arrests yet. 🧵⬇️

The 34-year old man arrested in connection with stabbing a 54-year old woman on BART Saturday has a long criminal history dating back to 2006 and spanning the Bay Area. Questions are being raised about his latest convictions and lenient sentencing in Alameda County. In documents I obtained today, he faced 29 charges earlier this year, including violent robbery from January 8th. He was on probation at the time and the case dismissed as part of a plea deal. The DA’s office tells me the susepct was released in July of 2024 “due to good conduct credits.” In another instance he was sentenced by DA Pamela Price in 2023 to one day in jail and probation for a 2021 case for many charges including 1st-degree robbery and sale of ammunition to a minor. Full story & how one of his prior victims from 2014 reacted when I told her about the BART incident. ⬇️

Zooming from her hospital room, Linh Luu told me Misha Romanenko was the love of her life. They were hit by a Tesla, reportedly traveling at 98 miles an hour Sunday night, which crashed into 7 cars at Harrison and 6th. Misha and Linh’s mini Golden Doodle “Keeper”didn’t survive. 66-year old Jia Lin Zheng was arrested for vehicular manslaugher. A police report I obtained shows he did not smell like alcohol at the time of the incident. Zeng claimed he kept pressing the brake but the car did not slow down or stop. Linh asks the world to remember Misha as a positive spirit who always made others smile. She wants answers as to how this happened and says “Honestly, I want to trade places with him. He had such a purpose in this world.” This story breaks my heart. #SanFrancisco

We found the hot dog vendor in this viral video who is seen on the ground & handcuffed by police Sunday at Pier 33 on the Embarcadero. Ana Luisa Casimir Julca told me she is a single mom from Peru. Her 5-year old daughter can be heard wailing nearby. She came to the US 6 months ago. SFPD told me the video is actually manipulated and that full body cam video shows Casimir Julca assaulted a port employee & obstructed & resisted officers. Full story ⬇️ #SanFrancisco

𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝: That’s me in June of 2022, interviewing the owner of Lucky 7 Cigarettes in Oakland. They had been broken into SEVEN times. Last night around 3:15 OPD confirms vehicle rammed into the store AGAIN. Surveillance video shows multiple people running in to ransack the shop. Owner Oanh is heartbroken. Police arrested two people and the investigation is ongoing. #Oakland

2,000 packs of cigarettes were stolen in armed robberies at two neighboring gas stations in Oakland today. There have been so many robberies in recent weeks— and burglaries where cars ram into buildings it was hard keeping track of them all. There were several car ramming cases in Alameda this year already. Oakland and Alameda police tell me burglaries and robberies are down YTD. But perception is much different for businesses owners. One man who owns four gas stations in Oakland told me he’s considering no longer selling cigarettes and if his cries for help continue to fall on deaf ears by elected leaders he’ll have to shut down his stores. #Oakland #California

𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫: According to the police report I obtained, the 45-year old Walgreens manager was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after the 30-year old suspect was seen stealing a box of men’s hair regrowth product. This happened around 4:20 this morning. The manager can be seen punching and kicking the suspect. Officers retrieved keys with what appeared to be dried blood on them from the scene and entered them into evidence. The suspected shoplifter was cited for battery and theft and taken to the hospital with cuts to the back of his head and eye area. #sanfrancisco
