The man in the car asked the elder to use his phone. ⠀ The 70-year old man’s wife told me she realized the younger man wasn’t making a call & seemed to be installing something on her husband’s phone. She intervened and asked for the phone back. ⠀ During their attempt to get the phone back the man floored the SUV, dragging the couple down the block. She allowed me to record our conversation so others can be aware of what happened. ⠀ Neighbors provided this and other videos to SFPD to use in their investigation. i wish this wasn’t real, but bro!! this was... my experience just this morning, this was someone i took on a date last week of december, we were meant to meet up again, but she had to leave for service(in the east) on her arrival we couldn’t talk, i texted her on snap(see first media) but she didn’t reply, two days later i texted her on whatsapp and the message didn’t tick twice, it was then i realized something is wrong, i had to call her, she explained to that her phone got bad on her arrival, she asked me for financial assistance, i sent her the money to fix the phone, days later she didn’t mention anything about the phone, then i had to ask her during one of our conversation, it was then she told me that “it’s a panel issue, it cant be fixed anymore” i sympathized with her then continued our conversation, days later she asked for another money for the same phone fixing, i explained my current situation to her, i told her about the expenses on me and i can’t spend anymore money out of budget, she grumbled and sighed, i had to apologize to her lol, just two days back i noticed she reposted a post on her ticktock and the message on whatsapp finally ticked twice, i asked her on call if she has fixed the phone, she said no, saying that the money i sent won’t be enough since it’s panel issue, i said okay,( though i was suspicious but i didn’t make a big deal out of it) lo and behold i came across her tiktok page with a new post(content) i asked her about the phone and this was her response(last media), i deleted her number and blocked her.💔💔💔show more

🔵 UPDATE 🔵 A woman is recovering following an... altercation that occurred last week in the northwest community of Edgemont, which resulted in the death of 1 man. 📍 At approx. 4:15 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, we were called to the 0 to 100 block of Edgemont Court N.W., for reports of an altercation inside a residence. Upon arrival, police located a man in his 40s in medical distress, as well as a woman in her 30s who had sustained injuries. The man was pronounced deceased on scene & the woman was transported to hospital in stable condition. A witness was also located at the scene who was uninjured. After a thorough investigation, police believe that the man had lured the woman to the residence under a false pretence of a property showing. While in the residence, the man attacked the woman without provocation. An altercation ensued, which resulted in the death of the man. The woman was able to escape the residence & get the attention of neighbours, who called 911. The man & woman were not involved in a domestic relationship. An autopsy was conducted today, Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026, by The Office of the Chief Medical, which identified the man as 48-year-old Shahbaz AHMED. As investigators have determined that the woman was acting in self-defence, AHMED’s death has been deemed a non-culpable homicide & no charges will be laid in this incident. “An incident of this nature is extremely rare & deeply unsettling for the victim, her family & all Calgarians,” says Acting Staff Sergeant Scott Guterson of the CPS Homicide Unit. “The victim’s actions undoubtedly saved her life & our thoughts are with her as she continues to recover.” To protect the privacy of the victim, no further details will be released. Yesterday I was moving into a new apartment, and... I had some help from a couple of guys who do moving work. I first noticed something when I went to pick them up at Home Depot. While talking to the older man, he received a call and answered, “Yes, commander, I’ll call you back.” I ignored it at first. Fast forward to when we got home and started loading and moving stuff. Another call came in from the same “commander,” this time on speaker. The moment I heard the voice, I knew something was wrong, and the man didn’t realize it. On the phone, they were asking him for $2,000, saying the girl he was supposed to marry next week was sick and needed money for treatment, even though she’s supposedly a military nurse according to her profile. I signaled him and muted the call. I told him to ask for the commander’s name, and he did. The guy said his name was “Marthin” and then “Martinez” 😂. I took the phone and said something, and the scammer immediately hung up when he heard my accent. A few minutes later, he called again, asking why the man had handed the phone to someone else and claiming it was against their “security rules.” I took the phone again and cursed him out. I told the man to block them, which he did. Then he showed me many more messages he’d been receiving. The man was already far gone into the scam. I’m glad I was able to stop him from being scammed. New surveillance video shows a man with a machete... threatening a driver during a carjacking in Manhattan last week. Police said the 27-year-old driver was sitting in his parked Honda on West 11th Street in Greenwich Village when three male suspects forced him out of his car and stole it. One of the suspects was seen on video displaying a machete as he approached the vehicle, police said. The driver was not injured. Police are still searching for the suspects. This happened at country pop star Morgan Wallen’s concert... Friday night in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A fan handed her phone to a security guard. The security guard was standing with her face to the crowd and her back to the stage and was filming Morgan. Morgan comes over and crouches down and gives the phone camera a look, walks away, then comes back and grabs the phone out of the security guard’s hands and then turns around and chucks the phone off the stage. A lot of people are upset with Morgan, I get it, but many people pointed out that the security guard wasn’t doing her job. They said when you sign up for the job, the job entails making sure that you are enforcing no videoing. I personally have never seen a venue employee or security guard, whatever she was, film the performer for a fan. But, depending on the venue, and looking at Morgan’s policies, he allows videoing, not sure about the venue though. ALERT: Former Kokomo police officer charged with s*xual assaulting... a 14-year-old runaway after he tracked her phone. Sinmi Asomuyide, 33, was found guilty by the US Department of Justice after a 5-day trial on charges that he s*xually assaulted the 14-year-old and lied to investigators to cover up his act. Asomuyide, a former police officer in Kokomo, Indiana, met the teenager after being tasked with following up on the runaway as a probationary officer. The teen told investigators that Asomuyide picked her up, but instead of dropping her off at a local youth center, Asomuyide kept her in the car and asked her inappropriate questions. Asomuyide then asked for her number, tracking her phone to her home before handcuffing her, forcing her into his patrol car, and assaulting her. The jury also found Asomuyide guilty of witness tampering for lying to the Indiana State Police about the assault, and Asomuyide tried to cover up the assault by deleting a messaging app he was communicating with the teenage girl. Special Agent in Charge Timothy J. O’Malley of the FBI Indianapolis Field Office said, “The defendant used his position of trust and the appearance of assistance to isolate and assault a child, then took steps to obstruct the investigation by destroying records and lying to law enforcement.”show more

In other news, after my doctor's appointment today I... was robbed while in line at the H Mart in Somerville. A man started yelling at the nice woman working at counter (who only spoke Spanish), so I started filming to protect her. Then, the man slapped my phone out of hand and left the store. The man then came back into the store, slapped my phone out of my hand again, and then walked down the street with my property in his hand (while a recording was running). I, in turn, used my words to demand he drop the phone. After four blocks --and a few threats to smash the device-- the man threw my phone in a flower bush near the Citizens Bank. Thankfully, some nice passersby were able to call the SomervillePolice (who responded and located the alleged assailant quickly). The man then escaped around the corner, whereupon Somerville police gave chase. The man was located, interviewed and let go (surveillance footage from the H Mart was not immediately available for police review). An investigation remains ongoing and, at the end of the day, I am just glad the women at the H Mart are safe (getting my phone back was a nice bonus, too). Serbian police have arrested a Turkish man after the... dismembered remains of a 27-year-old Russian woman were found inside a suitcase near Belgrade, SHOT reports.
